Hi all, Our current Call Manager 4.x servers are creaking under their age, and we are looking at replacing this either with a new Cisco telephony system or a completely new system altogether. The system has to use IP as the connection to the handsets, as we don't want to add in more cables. Has anyone any experience in deploying a new Call manager setup, or a similar telephony system, and how was the accessibility? Thanks. Andrew.

Working in System BIOS

Does anyone have any tips on how to modify system bios settings with speech, or through some other means? Most all of our machines are some flavor of Dell Precision workstations. Specifically, I need to be able to set the boot priority so that I can boot from a USB device. ... Trying to setup a Windows 7 Unattended Install. Thanks for any pointers or help that you can provide. Alex

Talking VMWare Linux and Windows images?

Hi, I am trying to find a way of running a virtual machine with Linux and also another one with Windows XP, but I couldn't find a stable solution until now. I need to run a guest Linux and Linux from my Windows XP, so dual booting or booting from a stick is not an option. A few years ago I tried a Vinux VMWare image, and I could use it for a very short time, then I don't know what happened, but it stopped talking and I couldn't make it work again, so I abandoned it because it was not stable enough. Now I tried a Vinux VMWare image again, and it started to talk some things but it stopped talking before the login prompt. I tried to shut it down, tried to boot it again for many times, I even deleted the VMWare configuration file and used a new unarchived image, but it doesn't want to talk absolutely anything. It is not a problem to install and use a Linux virtual machine by SSH (using VirtualBox), because I was able to do it very easy with Vagrant, but I am wondering if there is a way to also use a VM of Windows XP and Linux with a GUI desktop. Do you know if there are somewhere VMWare images of Windows XP that can be used easily by a blind, or for the moment there are no stable solutions for that. I said VMWare, but it can be any other VM environment like VirtualBox if it is accessible. Thanks. --Octavian

good news regarding SCCM 2012 accessibility

Hi all: I just wanted to pass on some good news regarding accessibility issues in SCCM 2012, it looks like they might be being resolved. Perhaps some as soon as SP1. I've been working with Microsoft CSS and GW-Micro for the past few months on this, and I think when MS got a VM running Window-Eyes and saw how bad it was, they had an "oops" moment. They claim they tested SCCM 2012 with JAWS. I'd be very curious to see their testing results with this, as SCCM 2012 is about as bad with JAWS as it is with Window-Eyes. Anyway, I'll report more as things move along, but so far I'm very encouraged. Ryan

anyone familiar with installing a Linux ISO in to fusion?

So I'm running VM FUsion on the Mac. Is there any way of doing a talking install of a linux distribution or specific image? I have a PBX system that's called Elastix that I'm wanting to try out and don't necessarily want to spin up hardware and have someone install it. Thanks Scott

Problems setting static IP on SRV 2K8

Hi folks, I've set these up on client machines no problems for years but not on a server and not in a server running within a VM. FYI I'm using VM Workstation v8. I go into Network, adaptor settings, hit properties on TCP/IP v4. Typing in the static IP I want to use 192.168.2.24 I got the Gateway address prior by running ipconfig/all which came back as 192.168.2.0 So I put that in, and according to this MS Article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754203(v=ws.10).aspx I can use the current machine as the DNS Server so I thump it's IP in to the Preferred DNS. In saying this according the the same article I can do the same for the alt DNS, but this throws up an error saying they both can't be the same. No problem I leave Alt DNS blank. I tick the box to validate on exit, click OK, click close. The Net Diog keeps coming up and it's aying it's found a problem but has no idea what it is. I'm also not able to browse out on to the net. I can ping the machine IP but the gateway address is unreachable. FYI I've tried the default Gateway of 192.168.2.1 and I'm using the default Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0 Help? Cheers, Barry.
