Hey: I've installed this on a test machine. So far, the only change I've seen as far as accessibility goes is that the field names in the details paine now read properly. Is that all that has changed, or are other people seeing anything I'm not? Ryan

Really odd. I got a free Office 365 subscription as part of my MSDN subscription. So, I just tried your trick to get OWA lite working with that, and it didn't work. I kept getting the full theme. I poked around in the options screen, and there is a theme there called "lite." I switched to it, but nothing happened, unless OWA lite itself is barely usable in Exchange 2013. I know you said it looked like Microsoft had customized the OWA experience for Office 365 and possibly broke something, and OWA lite isn't supported anyway, so its not a big deal but just wanted to give the heads up that it may not always work On a random side note, by the way, my subscription also gives me a Windows Azure account, and that web site is actually pretty accessible, if busy. I haven't explored everything Azure does, quite frankly I don't understand half of what it does, and I think its more developer focused than system admin focused. But, I do have a VM running in the Azure cloud with Window-Eyes on it and am successfully able to connect to it over RDP. I use the OWA lite version, because it gives me really simple access to mail using JFW navigation keys. Currently OWA Lite in Office 365 is a real pig to get at. It officially isn't supported (according to the help), though if you access your Office 365 account, there is an option to enable OWA lite as the default when you log into OWA. The problem is, that when you log into OWA, I believe Microsoft have customised it for Office 365, and this is getting in the way of the standard OWA stuff, which is preventing the OWA lite from being accessed. I have found probably an unofficial workaround for this, by playing with a test Exchange 2013 setup, which means you need to enter in a different URL on the address bar as follows: Log into your Office 365 portal, when at the OWA full feature screen, remove everything after the /owa and enter in the following text: ?layout=lite So my OWA session URL is now: https://pod51049.outlook.com/owa/?layout=lite I haven't had much luck saving this as a favourite, something in the authentication gets screwed up somewhere. I think this may be partly down to my Office 365 email account being under a different email address than my logged in Passport account in Windows 8. I can't get a standard OWA login screen, everything seems to be tied down to Passport logins with Office 365. Any this is my experience so far. Thanks. I seem to be drawing a complete blank finding anyone who knows anything about Microsoft Forefront Protection for Exchange Server. Do any of you guys know anything at all about it? ESET is due a hefty fee for renewal soon, and at $1 per month, per user, this appears to be a decent solution. BTW, it's taken since the New Year, but we look like having resolved our SBS 2010 performance issues. It seems that the Exchange 2010 part did not like having one Outlook 2003 client for a short period early on, and messed up the RPC binding order. Just a pity that the error reports didn't point in that direction. George.

Hello, I posted on Friday about using Team viewer. Here is where I am with this now. 1. Jaws works really well with the Team viewer application. Of course, it cant provide any feedback from the remote system but we'd expect that. 2. Sound is sent from the remote system via Team viewer so you can hear what's happening on the remote computers. 3. NVDA has a portable version that when extracted is 63MB. This works reasonably well on the remote computer. There's a bit of a lag and the clarity of the synthesizer leaves a lot of room for improvement but that's just the joy of using a remote connection. 4. I've been able to get NVDA down to 12.6MB compressed with a self extracter. This dumpsthe portable files into the tempdirectory and automatically starts NVDA. 5. This portable version is available in the archive at www.blindsysadmins.com/portable.exe<http://www.blindsysadmins.com/portable.exe> 6. This portable executable is not signed. I also don't have a trusted cert so I have no way of signing it. Therefore I have a problem runningthis remotely without assistance. It also presents a warning box that from an unsuspecting end users perspective looks very dodgy. Therefore until I find a way of signing this somehow, it's not an acceptable solution. So. There you have it. I'm almost there. If I can just get this to run without prompting the user to trust it then I'll be laughing. I've cut this down from 63MB to 12.5 MB by removing support that wn't be needed when providing help to someone over a remote connection. For example, you won't need Braille or access to messenger, AOL, sound forge or all the other applications in this category. I'm also about to write a Jaws script for team viewer that cuts out some of the extra verbosity spoken by Jaws when in the team viewer window. It would also be nice to press one letter on the keyboard to establish a remote connection without needing to tab around to find the right button. Efficiency for me is the key here. If I could find a way of getting the NVDA portable package down to a better size I'd be delighted but I'd probably need some input from the developers. For example, the portable package may be used to install NVDA onto a users PC. For the purposes of remote assistance, this functionality really isn't required. That might get rid of quite a lot of dependencies and make the archive even smaller. The aim is that within one minute of getting remote access you can read the remote systems interface.

Hello, I posted on Friday about using Team viewer. Here is where I am with this now. 1. Jaws works really well with the Team viewer application. Of course, it cant provide any feedback from the remote system but we'd expect that. 2. Sound is sent from the remote system via Team viewer so you can hear what's happening on the remote computers. 3. NVDA has a portable version that when extracted is 63MB. This works reasonably well on the remote computer. There's a bit of a lag and the clarity of the synthesizer leaves a lot of room for improvement but that's just the joy of using a remote connection. 4. I've been able to get NVDA down to 12.6MB compressed with a self extracter. This dumpsthe portable files into the tempdirectory and automatically starts NVDA. 5. This portable version is available in the archive at www.blindsysadmins.com/portable.exe<http://www.blindsysadmins.com/portable.exe> 6. This portable executable is not signed. I also don't have a trusted cert so I have no way of signing it. Therefore I have a problem runningthis remotely without assistance. It also presents a warning box that from an unsuspecting end users perspective looks very dodgy. Therefore until I find a way of signing this somehow, it's not an acceptable solution. So. There you have it. I'm almost there. If I can just get this to run without prompting the user to trust it then I'll be laughing. I've cut this down from 63MB to 12.5 MB by removing support that wn't be needed when providing help to someone over a remote connection. For example, you won't need Braille or access to messenger, AOL, sound forge or all the other applications in this category. Hi, all. I am currently a student studying at Northumbria University in the UK. My degree is Ethical Hacking for computer Security and as part of the degree it heavily relies on security and pennitration testing using Linux and windows. I am hoping to use this degree as a way to gain employment within the Sys Admin field. Can anyone advise of the accessibility of Kali Linux or provide me with some idea of the accessibility of the applications used for network tasks? thanks Lexi

Hi folks, I’m joining an ICT team where they’re about to buy in several new laptops to add to our network. I’ve not gotten a chance to see the setup yet but was wondering if any particular software is used for cloning and rollout in enterprise environments, what the access implications are etc. From a home user point of view, I’ve set up win7 machines without eyes to help, using narrator then installing JFW or whatever. One would assume some form of unattended installation takes place for a larger number of systems. It’ll be win 7 of some description, so any advice or input anyone has would be helpful; especially if I can get in before they have firmed up their procedures so I can build in access from the ground up. Cisco IP phone 7942

Hello, I am sorry for the off topic post, but i wanted to know if someone has any experience with the above cisco IP phone and its accessibility. The company i am working for have just roled these phones out to everyone and seeing as they have a range of features, is there a way to make this functionality accessible? The phone that has been given to us is the Cisco IP phone 7942. I know that there are third party applications that can be installed on this phone, but i would be grateful for any more information on how to go about this. Regards, Chamandeep Singh
