Hello all, I forget what the concensus was when we discussed this before, but I seem to be finding difficulties finding a softphone that has both accessibility as well as a good feature set; particularly, I need the ability to pull contacts and what not from Active Directory since we use that; I've heard of Microsip, though I know that it does not support this feature. If X-Lite/Bria used to be accessible, they aren't now; unlabeled fields everywhere which cannot be seemingly deciphered via object navigation with NVDA (Haven't tried JAWS, but I will.) We're using Asterisk for the server if that matters. Thanks.

Buying a NAS for my home

Hi all, I plan to get myself a NAS. I am thinking of the Synology DS216J. What do you think? We have QNAP NASs in the office which are unfortunately not very accessible with their Web GUI. We also have 2 old Buffalo DiskStations which still work though they are very old. their interface is also pretty accessible. portable power

Hello, I'm in the market for portable power. I am looking for recommendations for products that people have bought, used, and liked, and why you like them. The first is a portable power bank. My goal is portability, but the biggest battery I can find. I've read about several, I don't mind if it looks like a brick, if it can go in a laptop bag it can go with me, but it's got to have a big battery, be able to handle multiple devices if needed, and would be nice if it would support quick charge/fast charge. The second item I'm looking for is a wireless fast charging pad. I've seen a few of them, ones by Choetech but they don't have the charger with them and some of them are not even fast charging, they're just wireless. Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks. Dave.

JFW reading terminals

Hi, Not sure if this is the best place to ask this but it's the only list I'm subscribed to. I'm supposed to be working with a lot of cisco equipment at the minute, through SSH and terminal sessions. I'm using JFW since it was bought for me, all of our cisco equipment requires you to be on a remote server to configgure it and I can't use NVDA remote anyway because of firewalls, ETC. I've got JFW working fine remotely, but either on the local JAWS or remote JAWS I can't get it to read terminals. I'm using both PUTTY and tera term. It reads CMD fine just not terminals. Are there any special settings ETC I need to change? Cheers for any help. NVDA with Secure CRT is amazing!

Because I'm having a lot of problems with Jaws at the moment, I'm using NVDA a lot more than I would have. NVDA is slowing me down in Outlook and of course, I cant use it in remote desktop environments reliably but where it is really shining is in SecureCRT! I've just successfully connected to a Linux machine, Then used SSH to connect to a remote server where I needed to update some files. I used simple commands. Ls, pwd, ps etc and the feedback was perfect every single time. Then I ran nano and to my delight I was able to accurately navigate by character and by line. I haven't had that kind of reliability from a Windows screen reader in an SSH session before. I'm just delighted! I've also found good success in the command line and in powershell. Digital Ocean control panel issue?

Hi list. Anyone else had trouble with the DO panel, using JFW? Specifically, Using JFW16 and IE 11. I'm trying to create a monitoring policy. I've filled out all the form fields but the create button at the bottom is still grey'd out. I then tried the same thing in Google Chrome but Chrome doesn't seem to present the whole webpage to JAWS> All I get is a button to view a tutorial on one of Digital Ocean's other other features. Automatically installing and accessing Windows Server 2016 in a non-domain environment?

Does anyone have examples of automatically installing Windows Server 2016 in such a way that it is possible to use the server with screen reading software after the install is complete? At the least after the install is complete I'd like to be able to get a remote powershell session in that I could then hopefully use to install screen reading software. Unfortunately my personal machine is in a domain, but the VM I would use to install Windows Server would not be joined to a domain. My understanding is this makes getting remote access much more complicated since you can't just enter a password to get a remote powershell session like you can with SSH. Any advice on this would be appreciated. Note I'm using Hyperv as the hypervisor, and don't care what screen reader I can use to access the server.
