Hi all, I have a new flat and with it comes a 1GBPs Ethernet connection as part of the building service. The router they have given me is causing me a lot of issues so I want to upgrade it. I have been looking at different models and I have discount a lot due to the 1GBPs connection. I have a Sophos router from a previous job, but it doesn't support IPV6. At this point I am looking at potentially going with a Synology router, the Unifi kit or a PFSense build. has anyone used any of this and can comment on the usability with JFW? i know the Synology will be pritty much the same as the NAS, though they don't have a demo site for the router. I am going to check out the Ubiquiti demo site next but I know people on this list were using it. Thanks. Andrew.

Hi. Has any one used windows admin centre. Is It accessible with screen readers like jaws, nvda, windows narrator. Or do I need a jaws remote licence. Thanks.

TeamViewer and no audio on login screens

Hi all, I sent a ticket to TeamViewer support regarding our problem with TeamViewer not transmitting audio from the login screen. According to support they have already a internal ticket open with that problem. They will keep me updated on this problem. So will i on that list. Greetings, Simon

Hi. As in Australia. Might just have to have the recording. As maybe might be asleep or just getting up. Yes this is very interesting. Marvin. Ps: has any one played with windows server insider 2022. And if so, has audio been disabled, when installing via windows narrator or does it still need sighted help when you cannot see and tried the cmdapproach, but still does not work.,

I could use pro or enterprise edition I want to make this offline not related to Microsoft account. another point, any tutorials explain for me how to manage updates / another obtion via group policy / scripts for modify it. many thanks for your support

Security. Open conversation among system administrators?

Good afternoon, Security is a huge concern for me at the moment. Two institutions in Ireland were targeted with Ryuk over the past few weeks. I have no doubt that there are malicious acters targeting the institution I work for right now. I was wondering if a few of you would be up for a conversation via Zoom or Teams in the coming days. I can explain what we have done and what we are continuing to do to protect ourselves. You can do the same. Some of what we are doing might overlap but potentially we all might get a few new ideas. My infrastructure might be considered legacy compared to some. I'm still using on-prem systems for the most part. But I have some cloud based services as well. All system admins / architects would be welcome. Perhaps Wednesday at 10pm gmt? I don't know what that is in other time zones. But it's probably around 6pm eastern. Hi: Back in my sysadmin days, MMC crashes were very common, this isn't new to Windows 10, this has happened for me ever since Windows Vista. Back then I was using Window-Eyes as my screen reader, and whenever I opened Event Viewer, selected a log to view from the tree and tabbed into the list of events, I'd get MMC freezing up with a message that a snap-in was taking too long to respond. When I closed MMC and restarted things worked normally but I just got in the habit of expecting MMC to crash and needing to relaunch it. Event Viewer was the place where this happened the most regularly but I also saw it in a few other consoles, never the AD Users and Computer snap-in though but back when SCCM used the MMC to present its UI it happened all the time there too. So I wonder if what you're seeing isn't new but something that's been a problem in MMC for well over 10 years now? MMC always crashing on Win 10, Server 2016 and 2019

Hi all, I have various crashes in MMC using NVDA. I don't know if that also happens with JAWS. It happens regularly in WSUS, Event viewer and other tools that use MMC. Basically just navigating and viewing the events in event viewer brings it down and I need to kill the task. It at least happens under various versions of Windows 10, Server 2016 and 2019. This bug exists for a longer time now. I guess I reported it a few months already. Anyone knows what the bug is and if it will be fixed? Or is there a workaround i can use? Am I the only sysadmin who has that bug? Greetings and thanks, Simon
