Andrew et al, thanks for all of the help installing Win 2003 on my Dell PE 2900. OK I think I got a handle on it but I have one question. If I use the two CDs from Dell Plus the Windows 2003 CD I end up with a 10GB C partition. At what point in the installation process can I override the default partition size? Scott, thanks After running through the OS install CD utility the Dell installer asks for the following CD: dell open server 5.3 I can't seem to find that anywhere on the support and driver page. Help needed, was: RE: booting from the CD on a Dell PE

Ryan, thanks I got it booted by changing the boot order to boot from the CD first. I booted into the Dell 2900 System build utility and had a sighted friend run through the setup screens to do an OS install. After putting in the Windows product key the build utility says prepareing to install with a progress indicator that gets up to 51 percent and then asks for the following CD: dell open server 5.3 I looked at the driver section for Power Edge 2900 on the http://support.dell.com site and could not find that CD image. Can anyone point me to the exact location and name of the CD image I need to finish the installation? Hi, so I have a configuration from a Juniper srx210 I'm having issue with. I have the source nat defined, interfaces defined, zone rules defined and can't get traffic to work outbound. My source nat rule-set shows matches (many) so I think that part is working. Anyone familiar with these devices and could review my config and see what I'm missing. I'm pretty new to Junos, especially on firewalls, so could definitely use some pointers. Thanks Scott

Hi all, I have a client of mine who is using Outlook 2007 with JFW 10. She manages about four or five shared calendars. As part of her job duties she has to find open time slots on all of those calendars. The way to do this in Outlook 2007 is to use overlay mode which you can get to by selecting the calendars you want in the navigation pane and choosing "Overlay" from the view menu. Visually what this does is put appointments from all selected calendars into one view so that empty time slots are very obvious. The problem we are having is that JFW is only reading appointments from the last selected calendar. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get Overlay mode to work in JFW? I'm banging my head against concrete here, and wondered if any of you have experience of Outlook 2007 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, accessing an Exchange 2003 Server at my office from my home desktop. I have access via the same Virgin Netgear Router here at home via my laptop which has Windows Professional 32 bit and Outlook 2003. As far as I can see, the Dray Tek Smart VPN Client is set up identically tio the laptop. I know for sure that the VPN is connected, as I can access any of the server's drives, and even Remore Desktop to the server. But whatever I try, I keep being told that the Exchange Server is not available. However, what has got be a tad suspicious, is that I have a similar problem accessing an America supplier's server using the same Username and Password as I do onloy my laptop, which suggests that I may be missing something 64 bit specific. Has anyone any thoughts? George.

Telephony systems

Hi all, Our current Call Manager 4.x servers are creaking under their age, and we are looking at replacing this either with a new Cisco telephony system or a completely new system altogether. The system has to use IP as the connection to the handsets, as we don't want to add in more cables. xp media center edition for dell

Hello, I'm trying to repair a stubborn dell desktop that i swear is trying to spite me. It's running xp media center edition, which is my first question. Does anyone have a vanilla xp media center edition iso? I've got the key for it, on the side of the dell, but the owner has lost the original dell media. The box is getting a stop error 0xc2 a memory test came up good so i don't think it's bad ram. I'm thinking a very badly corrupted windows. It even stops when going in to safe mode, same error. It's running sata drives raided together i think it has a built in hardware raid controller so i'll need to visit dell's site for drivers, i was thinking a custom media center edition iso with the raid/disk controller drivers integrated, would detect the two drives and then i could run a repair. Hello, I've got a dell that i'm working on that is not booting windows xp properly. It's not under any kind of waranty and a memtest shows it's ram is good, yet even booting windows in safe mode is producing a blue screen stop message 0xc2 message. A reinstall seems the best option. I'm planning on downloading dell drivers for this machine and creating an unattended xp installation disk, my problem is one of backup. This box has two Sata hard disks in it, that i'm not sure how much has been backed up, so before i can reinstall i have to back them up. I'm wondering an accessible solution for this, but also one that i can expand with the necessary sata controller drivers, i'm assuming they're intel of some variety. Thanks. Dave.

stop 0xc2 message and accessible troubleshooting

Hello, I've got an xp machine, it's a dell-something running media center edition of xp. It's getting a BSOD stop error 0x000c2 which googling revealed was a kernel or memory driver issue. The machine will not boot normally and surprisingly not boot in safe mode. I'm going to start pulling memory chips, see if one of them is the cause, then clean out it's insides. If i have to go deeper in this are there any accessible troubleshooting environments, like a windows PE with accessibility such as sound enabled? Thanks. Dave.

avast4 home edition, submitting sample and possible root kit

Hello, My first question is is anyone using avast4 home edition on their workstations? I am and about ten minutes ago i got a pop up indicating a hidden rootkit was discovered by huristic means, i quarantined it and there was a checkbox to submit the sample. I kept it checked and hit ok. I didn't get any feedback indicating the sample had been sent or form to fill out for contact. Second question is how can i be sure this thing went in? It might be a false positive i'm not sure. My machine has been periodically slow on the internet for the past day or so, but that's infrequent and now that i'm thinking about it it might be either something or overreaction. Finally, what does everyone use for workstations for detecting rootkits? Thanks. Dave.
