Exchange Server 2016 and ESET

Do any of you have Exchange Server 2016 running ESET anti-virus software for Exchange? Access to e-mail with Outlook simply stopped around noon yesterday for no apparent reason. Having spent last night and into the early hours of this morning on to MS Technical Support (in Bombay), as a last move, they advised the removal of ESET which, I hasten to add I was extremely reluctant to do. The removal process took an abnormally long time, but after a re-boot, all was back working again. (Apart from a ton of mail that would otherwise have been stopped!) Has anyone experienced similar? MS seemed quite confident, as if we were not the first to have such an issue. ESET themselves are baffled, but with their support, we will be trying a re-install later today. George

We do test Azure DevOps pretty regularly, but as its such a large project we can be testing one part while a change is made in another part we may not catch right away. Access to Azure DevOps (was VSTS)

Hi, I have been using VSTS in various forms for a few years now. I find I can get my way around the build and release pipeline editors ok with a screen reader and some messing about in various places, but nothing too horible. I have not used it before for story management on the Agile platform, mainly using Jira before. We have now moved to using VSTS work items instead of Jira and I am finding it a real mess. The main items I am having issues with are: - When you open a work item and want to view child work items, the screen reader seems to have the parent work item in focus as well so you need to make absolutely sure you are editing the correct work item and not in some other parent work item form. Hi all, Some time ago, I read that Ciscovission had an academy for visually impaired where you could learn HTML5 through an online course, but that doesn't seem to be available anymore. Tablet looses network drives randomly

Hi, I have a staff with a new Surface pro and dock. She reports that randomly when trying to save an excel dock, or browse to a network drive in a web browser her network drives are gone. I also confirmed that she disconnects and reconnects to her dock about 5 to 10 times a day and puts the tablet in sleep mode. I have always been aware that laptops going to sleep don't always regain network connectivity reliably. Anyone have any thoughts on best practices to avoid network drive loss for a Surface Pro user who moves around allot? Thanks. ###

Windows 10 Attack Surface Reduction rules

My laptop is running Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, recently upgraded to 1809. There's supposed to be a new option under Virus and Threat Protection to "block suspicious behaviours". However, I can't find it anywhere. This option apparently enables some or all of the Attack Surface Reduction rules. However, I was able to use PowerShell to enable the rules individually, which has the advantage of offering greater administrative control in any case. See this page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/threat-protection/windows- defender-exploit-guard/enable-attack-surface-reduction My main question is whether the Attack Surface Reduction rules are effective in Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, or whether they really need Windows 10 Enterprise. Also, is there any action performed by screen readers that one should be aware of which would inadvertently fail due to one of these rules? Having looked at the rule descriptions, I can't think of any software that I'm likely to use which would obviously and legitimately perform actions that are blocked.

So unfortunately NVDA speaks only during install and thereafter the batch deletes all the unnecessary synth/braille files etc. I am looking at trying to create an MSI so its just one file, which will take care of everything and more so for running remotely. Hi, You might look into the file beep_sequence.py. maybe you can specify a very low beep which you can't hear over speakers. I was having this issue even though I am using account with administrative rights. Just a suggestion, Have you maybe tried using the latest version of NVDA along with the remote addon that just got updated? Another thing I've noticed with the remote addon, it seems to be fussy when it comes to computer names. For company reasons our computer names have dashes or hyphens in them for naming purposes. I noticed if I gave my pc a short name with no hyphens it seems to connect to the clients as soon as I tell them to click the icon on the desktop. I hope the above works for you because out of despearation I have also, 1. Installed NVDA along with addon in to the master image that we are deploying and Configured the settings to connect directly to the machine. I did try the suggestion to have the config on a share but, I was also experiencing long time of delay which caused a lot of frustration. Just a question, do you know perhaps how to switch off the beep on client side? I mean for the users who will connect to the machine, It is really not a nice thing for them to be hearing, especially in corporate environment I think. NVDA on Win 10: slow starts when getting the settings from a share

Hi all, Has someone also had that on win 10 with a normal user? i am using the nvda remote addon. I have my nvda settings hosted on a network share where all users have access to. when i start nvda using my admin account i just need to wait 1-2 seconds until my pc is connected to the other machine. but with a normal user i have 30-40 seconds until nvda beeps and is connected. i have already turned off firewall, turned off antivirus, etc. nothing seems to help. when i start nvda without getting the data off the network, nvda is quick. the win 7 clients which we also having have no issues at all. we have win 10 enterprise 1803 with all cumulative updates. Manage UPS in Windows 2012 R2

Well I'm a novice with Hyper-V, the charity I am working for has decided to change half of their VMs to be hosted with Hyper-V instead of VMWare (for some unknown reason it saves money) and they've asked me to look at setting up 2 VMs whilst the Head of IT is away. So basically I need to create 2 VMs with server 2012 on them. NVDA is on the physical machine which I control with RDP so that's all good but it's that initial creation of the VM that I'm slightly worried about. Hello, If anyone is running their own PBX in a home or business, not hosting it anywhere but running it off of a local computer, can you get in touch with me? question regarding switching between remote desktop and local machine

Hello. I am using windows 10 along with a remote desktop vm for work purposes. I am using JAWS 2018 with the remote desktop add-on. My question is is there a JAWS keystroke to switch between controlling the remote desktop and that of the local machine? Any help would definitely be appreciated.
