Hi, It seems to be on specific tenants because on my work tenant it is fine. On my tenant I am getting a load of Javascript in the page itself and half the buttons in the email view don't do anything anymore (luckily Reply still works but Delete and Next doesn't). There is no error as such. Since this morning no matter what browser I use I am getting HTML errors all over the place when reading an email and the buttons no longer work to move to the next mail, delete etc. I use this frequently at work. Anyone else using OWA and what settings do you use? I know MS are trying to get people away from OWA Light but the standard version is just too bloated for what I use it for and I find it anoying to make it work as effectively with a screen reader. Hello, I'm not sure how widespread this router is so it might be to list members in the US only. Does anyone have, either purchased, or provided by your ISP, a Wave2 router, specifically an Arris RACV1A model? If so, do you use it with a screen reader and if so what techniques do you use, IMO it's not to accessible? I'm wanting to set up a dhcp reservation for a printer and one for another fixed device. I've got to enter the Mac and the IP, it doesn't say which field is which and it doesn't tell me the format the mac will take. This is with both Jaws 2018 and NVDA 2018.2. Any help appreciated. Hi, Those options are not available on the store version funnily enough. I can update the click to run version fine, but don't seem to be able to do this via the store version. According to a couple of sites, updates for the store version come from the Windows store, so wonder if something is not publishing the update to the store? i have the same old version on both my machines with this issue. So I wanted to start a discussion to find out whether installing the Office 2016 from the store is a bad idea for screen reader users generally, if there are differences with updates to the store versions as opposed to the versions available by downloading the .Exe from the MS website, and if anyone has a good way of scripting the .Exe download and install. I should say that I have been using this method since around February 2018 and when iTunes got published to the store I am using that as well, I rebuild the systems fairly regularly. These are all home based systems running either Windows 10 Home or Pro with a MS account as the user account, making use of the Office365 Home with OneDrive subscription. Andrew: From any office app, you can press alt+f for the file tab, and then find the option for office account. You can then tab through to the update options where you can see what your settings are and force an update to office, it will also tell you what subscription you're signed into. Office 2016 as Windows 10 app

Hi all, Not strictly sysadmin related but for a long time now I have had a PowerShell bootstrap script which sets up everything on a clean Windows install. I used to install Office Click to Run using the .Exe downloaded from the MS website, however this is becoming problematic of late as older versions don't install correctly and sometimes mess up. A while ago I got a new laptop from Dell and noticed as part of the out of box experience it verified I had an Office365 subscription and downloaded the apps from the Windows store. I used the OEM installation image for a week with JFW and the apps seemed to work well, so I am now using these apps as part of my new installation. I can't script it, but going into the Windows store and re-downloading Office and iTunes directly from the store is a hell of a lot better then messing around with rubbish .Exe files which aren't meant to be scripted anyway. A few weeks ago I lost use of Excel 2016 (when moving around cells I can't read the contents via JFW without copying and pasting). Now I have an MSDN subscription and on one machine I reverted to using the Office 2016 MSI which works fine. There was a recent JFW update which mentioned Excel issues with cells and I thought this would fix things but it didn't. I emailed the support people about this in the UK and they have told me to repair Office, something which isn't available using the store versions. So I wanted to start a discussion to find out whether installing the Office 2016 from the store is a bad idea for screen reader users generally, if there are differences with updates to the store versions as opposed to the versions available by downloading the .Exe from the MS website, and if anyone has a good way of scripting the .Exe download and install. I should say that I have been using this method since around February 2018 and when iTunes got published to the store I am using that as well, I rebuild the systems fairly regularly. These are all home based systems running either Windows 10 Home or Pro with a MS account as the user account, making use of the Office365 Home with OneDrive subscription. No domain or anything special. The bootstrap script runs from a share on a NAS and downloads stuff either via the Internet, or off a separate deployment share. Thanks. Andrew.

Hi, Thanks. I'll check out those powerlines. As for Spectrum they no longer charge for modem rentals, they do however charge for their Wifi and router, which is the problem now. They use something called a wave2 which puts out great signal and has incredible band width, i'd like to get something equivalent to or better than this router preferably something that is dd-wrt supported. I will then add the powerlines to that type of setup. Router recommendations appreciated. Thanks. Dave. repeater not repeating

Hello, I've got an issue with a repeater router it's not repeating. My setup is a cable modem, going to an ISP-provided router, (I'll be getting rid of that and it's not relevant), and an Asus RTN66U running dd-wrt daisy chained on to the isp-provided router. To this setup I've got a multi-story home and want to add a repeater. So on the second floor I've got another Asus RTN66U also running dd-wrt that I'm trying to get to repeat the signal from the other router. On the second floor router i've turned on repeater-bridge mode in case I want to hook a client in via ethernet, and set wan connection type to disabled. Under security i've turned off everything as security should be handled by the primary router. I've also switched from AP to repeater-bridge. In the wireless configuration i'm eventually wanting to repeat both the 2.4 and 5GHZ signals, but for now am only trying to get the 2.4 going. All those settings match the primary router, SSID, channel, WPA2 key, etc. Currently I have an ethernet plugged in to the second router and am trying via wireless to obtain a dhcp address from the primary router which they should be talking. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. Dave.

Cheapest way to get a 2nd network connection

I am trying to help someone with a home office. She has a single ethernet port in this room where she made her office. But she wants to move her network printer into the room. So we need a second ethernet port. For now, I loaned her aa 5-port switch. It seems like overkill. I don't like wasting electricity. What I'd really like is something like a USB dongle that essentially serves as a hub. Something low power, small. Any ideas? If it was my own linux machine, I'd put in a 2nd ethernet card and enable packet forwarding in the kernel. But she wouldn't want me to mess with that. -- -- John G. Honestly I'd just get a consumer level switch and be done with it. If you wanted to go the DIY root I'm sure you could build something out of a Pi and a USB NIC but I'd be waying up the cost and time taken against how much power, if any it would actually save. Accessible managed switches?

Hi listers, Just a few questions please? I've recently been playing around just for education purposes with setting up a virtual DC, DHCP etc. I'd like to venture abit in to setting up VLans and realise that I need a managed switch for this sort of thing. Is there a low-cost managed switch that I can get which is accessible with either JAWS or NVDA? Any help would be appreciated as I am new to these type of things. Kind Regards

Hi Lukasz, We already have some images up there. we have a win 2008 R2 WDS Server and we distribute Win 10 Version 1803 images so that should work pretty well. at the moment i wonder how should i pxe boot or boot so the pc receives the image. The interface on the server side was pretty accessible and the only problematic part was actually capturing and then deploying the images. Ive used a boot.wim from Windows 10 dvd as my boot image in WDS. At the time it was necessary to use insider versions, because the build which was a stable version back then has no narrator included in the install image. From my experience it doesnt matter what version of Windows is being imaged and deployed as long as the architecture of the boot image matches the architecture of the system you want to deploy. The more problematic part was actually capturing an image, because when creating a capture image from Win 10 boot image there was no speech. Enabling memory integrity protection on Windows 10 Pro 1803

On the aforementioned Lenovo laptop (Windows 10 Pro 1803 with updates applied), I tried unsuccessfully to enable memory integrity protection in Windows Defender Security Center to improve over-all security. First, I discovered scripts on Lenovo's Web site that enabled me to change the UEFI (BIOS) settings from within Windows. https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht100612 This is much better than having to enlist help to change the firmware configuration. I enabled Intel virtualization support, then rebooted the machine and confirmed that virtualization was in fact enabled using System Information. I wanted virtualization anyway, so this was a desirable change on multiple grounds - not only the need to enable it for virtualization-based security. I then tried to enable memory integrity protection in Windows Defender Security Center. The resulting error message, presented as a notification, asserts: "Memory integrity can't be started. There may be an incompatability.. There may be an incompatability on your device.. . Received at 8:51 PM" I'm curious - has anyone else here tried it, and if so, with what results? I'm running JAWS 2018, although I have no reason to believe that it may be involved other than the fact that it uses its own video and braille display drivers. Various hardware drivers from their respective vendors are of course installed as well. For anyone who has enabled Memory Integrity Protection, have there been any adverse consequences?

interpreting wifi analyzer output

Low Vision SysAdmin Setup

Hi - My Dad is a sysadmin and recently diagnosed with macular degeneration. I was wondering if anyone could share helpful info about setting up a workspace specifically for low vision users (with central vision loss), best software to use, any particular glasses or other solutions that may help. Particularly with day to day tasks such as having to RDP into and maintain remote servers, reading + answering emails, etc. Curious also - has anyone had any experiences, good or bad, with using the Microsoft HoloLens or Samsung Odyssey as far as aiding with vision and working on remote systems, etc? Hello, Do we have anyone using acme.sh to issue letsencrypt wildcard certificates? If so, I'm wondering which one of these commands is right? The first is: acme.sh --issue --dns dns_api -d example.com -d '*.example.com' --ecc --keylength ec-256 --ocsp this seems like it's asking for a tld and then the same domain with a wildcard. Or is this one right? acme.sh --issue --dns dns_api -d '*.example.com' --ecc --keylength ec-256 --ocsp Thanks. Dave.
