Jet Direct boxes

Hello, Has anyone dealt with Jet Direct boxes? I've got a few of them and wanting to hook up some printers to them. I've downloaded the Jetadmin software v10.x from HP and installed it on one machine, so I can configure the jet direct box. I've got the jet direct box hooked in to my network's router. After a painful install, I mean this one was rough, it was installed, I ran it, and after looking around apparently it does see the jet direct box as an IP address. I've hooked in a printer, it's either an HP 4m or 4mp printer don't remember which one I grabbed, and I want to set it up. Now I have to apparently configure the printer device before I can set it up as a network available printer. That's where I'm stuck, configuration at least from here is not accessible. Has anyone got this going? Is there a commandline way of doing this or did I miss a step? Thanks. Dave.

Hi: I heard about this last week and thought I'd pass it on. Microsoft has opened a new support center for accessibility related issues. You can learn more here: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/contact-microsoft-accessibility At this point, its US hours only. I have already contacted them regarding SCCM 2012, I figured it couldn't hurt. Their main areas are Windows and Office, but I am getting a response, they aren't ignoring my and have reached out to our TAM, so it looks like they are willing to at least be a resource. Ryan

Hi, I've just emailed sitehelpdesk to see if I can get an interactive online demo. Myself and another tech though are about fed-up with this process and just want one in place. If I can get an online demo I'll mess with it myself and either keep it up my sleeve so that no ones head's explode at the mention, or if I find it useful I'll float the idea. Helpdesks you use in work

Hi folks, We've been looking at various Helpdesk solutions , with varying degrees of accessibility. Up until (if I'm honest), yesterday we've not had any even rough requirements. I was wondering what you are currently using in your work places to log Helpdesk and Service requests? I've looked at Zendesk, (very flash orientated), Sysaid (flash), Freshdesk (HTML but limited functionality, not so much an IT helpdesk as a Servicedesk), Oxygen, and a few others. Things we'd like the Help/Service Deskt o have are as follows, 1. Integration with Active Directory. If it links directly without having to import/export this would be brilliant. 2. Users can change their Active Directory passwords. 3. Various reporting functions for Managers. 4. SLA integration 5. Dispatcher rules, (though this isnt' critical) 6. Knowledge base both for users and technicians. 7. Canned responses 8. Ability to enforce users submit tickets via the web portal, instead of email 9. Customisable categories of requests, that can expand into sub-categories. EG. Software links to Microsoft, links to Office, links to outlook. 10. Re-branding to fit with company design. 11. Ideally can be tested in the cloud but hosted in-house. If not ideally UK based data centres. We're really up against time and I'll owe you all a pint if you can give me some pointers of what you're using and if it meets any or all of the above requirements. Thanks, Barry. The scary thing is I see I can give myself full domain perms, but there's no way I'd ever do it! Barry, you are wanting the system to force the user to change their password after it has been reset by an admin. Hi, You guys are going at it from 2 different angles--and you both are right in your line of thinking. Barry, you are wanting the system to force the user to change their password after it has been reset by an admin. This is a checkbox configured on the Accounts tab of the property pages for that user. Once checked, what you want will always happen. Stephen is right that the force user to change password is not an option on the reset dialog that appears after right clicking on the user and selecting reset password. There are no specific permissions for this. If the account has the ability to manage the user, they can reset the password and affect the check box to force the user to change the password once reset. No here it's not. The only thing I see in AD's Account tab for any user is, User logon name, User logon name (pre-Windows 2000):, Logon Hours..., Log On To... And if their account is locked the unlock account checkbox becomes enabled. Reset password is appearing in the appsKey/Right click on the user account.
