migrating imap messages to new server

Hello, I've got two imap servers one old, one new. The old one has messages on it that i'd like to get on to the new one for several users. Both servers are using open source software, postfix for the MTA and Dovecot for the imap server. If anyone knows how to pull this off I'd like to know about it. I would try copying them,but doubt it's that simple, I want to preserve their dates, times, and attributes. Thanks. Dave.

Email authentication problems, home pop3

Hi, I've a machine here with a btinternet.com address, that has been spotty on authenticating for a few weeks. The wife to be finally got fed up and nabbed me to go fix. Here's what I've tried 1. Delete and re-enter the email account information. 2. Going online to change the account password. 3. Trying to re-enter the new account password. 4. Creating a new Outlook profile, and putting the email account into it. 5. For giggles using their ISP help software, and letting it automatically enter the information. it still fails on the pw authentication 6. Ringing the lovely people at the outsourced call centre. Explaining the above steps and having the guy go, "Uh" "Then having him change the pw". Still nothing working. Thoughts? Regards, Barry.

Dear advanced users, I would like to valuably and kindly ask You for advice. Does somebody of You know, if Windows8 developer release is supporting unattended mode like a Windows7? I Am very sad, because i have found out, that development release of Windows8 is not supporting fully unattended mode of Vmware player while choosing Windows7 operating system. BUt it is very probably true, that unattended mode will very probably be incorporated to The stable release of Windows8. Dear advanced users and developers, I have found out ammazing FTP server, which is containing all PC Linux releases, including live KDE, live Gnome, live Zen mini Gnome. I would like to inform YOu, that Pclinux is The best Linux distribution, which is supporting remastering of installed release, one of The Zen mini release is even supporting reliable system administration tasks support while running it, even if user is not running xserver as root user. This algorithms are for now only The part of Mandriva One, Ubuntu and also onlyone created PclinuxOS zen mini Gnome release. I will let You know which one is including this good accessibility support. Finish-install Perl script can be safely terminated after finishing installation, this Perl script can be finished safely from The running Gnome session. The best awailable PCLinux release have been The Zen mini Gnome 2009.1, ALSA sound server have been used, and eventhough professional accessibility settings were not enabled like in later releases, user was able to use Adobe flash player with Alsa support. If somebody would be able to incorporate newest Pclinux OS kernel to this old release, I AM convinced, that this distro would be excellent. The 2009.1 also included unique remastering script, which allowed users to specifi The target partition for creating remaster, so this distro could be remasterd even while using it in live CD mode from running live session, even with The computer with only 512 MB of RAM. Hello, I know about ssh, in fact that's how I usually access a linux machine remotely. That's cli based, I'm wondering if it's possible to do it via the GUI? Is something like vnc workable? I know it isn't on a windows machine, or some other method of access? In this case I'm using a Vinux VM with Orca. Thanks. Dave.

Unassisted linux install?

Hi, So I have a Dell 1950 server. Are there any methods for unattended or unassisted install for blind users of Linux, specifically CentOS? What’s the latest? Can I use a serial cable with the Dell and do a console install? I don’t have a kickstart server in place else this would be simple. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks Scott

versapoint networked via a trendnet print server

Good morning listers, Has anyone out there ever connected a versapoint braille embosser to a print server using a parallel port? If so I would be interested in talking with you. I have tried to do so and I only get the first 11 pages of a braille document and the printer stops. Hello Everyone, I've got what I suspect to some of you will seem a trivial problem, but I'm not good with Perl, regular expressions, or pattern matching which is what I'm suspecting this one is going to take, though time wise running it should be quick enough. Here's the situation. I need to look at various files for the web, in this case css style sheet files, in them they have styles not used on any page so I want to remove the style in question. I've got several style sheet files, several sites to do this to, and several pages though a majority of them are quite similar. For example, some sheets have the <blockquote> tag in it, and a style set up for that. What I want to do is take each individual style I'll use blockquote and scan the pages of the site, if that isn't found on any page remove it from the sheet. The hard part comes in when dealing with contextual selectors and classes, but the same thing, scan each page for the contextual selector, ID, or class in question from the sheet, if found even on one page out of the whole site leave it alone, if no pages have that particular item remove it. I need this done for all pages, all sheets, and all sites. I can do this, if someone can get me started, and would be willing to help out with questions as I'm sure there will be some, I've tried reading about Perl regular expressions and my head hurts. explorer runtime error during cut, copy, paste operations

Hello Everyone, I'm getting the below error when atempting to cut, copy, or paste folders or files on my computer. Here's the error: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\WINDOWS\Expl EXE This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. OK I noticed it for the first time last evening when atempting to copy content off of an sd card to my computer. I didn't think anything of it at that point because that card had been put through the ringer and I assumed it was in the process of going bad. I did a chkdsk /f on the sd card followed up by a defrag and was able to copy the content. Later in the evening the sd card removed I was atempting to copy the same content off the computer on to a USB stick and got the same message, this time chkdsk on the stick revealed nothing wrong, I should mention that sd card did have errors on it and were corrected by the chkdsk. Now segeway to the morning, I'm not even dealing with the same content, same usb stick or sd card, I'm trying to copy content from an external USB terabyte drive to my computer, I got the same error. This time I actually had to reboot the box. Now I went to the terabyte drive and tried to copy the content from one folder to another on it, and again got the same message. If anyone has any suggestions I'd urgently like to hear them! Thanks. Dave.

Migrating from Exchange 2007 to 2010.

Greetings, I was wondering if any of you would be able to suggest a solution to the following problem? Sinario: 1 Exchange server running version 2007. New exchange server running on 2010. Hello all. Has anyone tried the Windows 8 Developer Preview, released last week? What do you all think of it? I am trying it in a VMware virtual machine and it's pretty good. NVDA is already working well for the most part. I hear System Access and even Window-Eyes does as well. But not JAWS, at least the 13.0 public beta. I've been asked to set up mail services on one, but have never worked with OSX before, I know it's BSD-based at least in it's unixishness I doubt that's a word and the software such as the MTA I do know, but have never been on a box. If anyone has one I'd like to discuss getting a look around via ssh. Related, but I think I know about this question, does anyone have access to VNC? Thanks. Dave.

Newbie question about reverse DNS and getting outgoing mail accepted from a small virtual private server

Hi there. I've been on here awhile just listening to learn different things. It's also part of why I took the good deal I found on this Virtual Private Server that I used to host my small little blog, to give me the freedom to configure what I chose for what I wanted to experiment with. The promo even came with Direct Admin included, so for $1 extra on their already low price I just added one more IP to get rid of the errors that it needs two for the DNS. My small Wordpress blog runs fine on this virtualized server as I would expect it too, it doesn't know the difference and has all it needs. I never worried about the fact that mail I'd send, even from the web interface logging in with an account I created always hit the bit bucket if I sent to most places, but did seem to work back to my address or if I set my usual address as the destination of a forwarder. I may have to now change to using the domain for my email because this account I've had for so long was only a secondary on a dialup account my parents have, but they are likely getting rid of it to get some kind of wireless instead, so the fun of updating all the sites I know I'm on has to begin some time while I can still get Email at the old address. If mail was sent to an account on my domain I did get it, just not anything I sent out from it, even with the web interface. I checked where whois thought the IP of my VPS pointed, and it shows nothing, so the reverse DNS is blank, which very well could be my problem. I will have to submit a support ticket to the provider to hopefully change it, but I'm confused what to have them set it to. If the hostname of the VPS is server.mydomain.com, mydomain.com being the domain I really have, will having them set it to that be good enough to have mail likely accepted, assuming the IP didn't end up in a blacklist that silently discards everything it sees from it? This isn't just one site that doesn't like my test mails, often subscribe requests to try to migrate list subscriptions over and just getting no confirmation, but most places, so that's why I suspect something like this. Win 7 Disk management

Hi, Are any of you folks that are using a Screen reader bothering with this? I've a Disk that I need to create a volume on. According to, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Create-and-format-a-hard-d… You click on the unallocated space in the graphical view. I've been all over the place. I can see the Disk I want but when i right click it's all Striped, Spanned, change to Dynamic, change from GDI, MBR, Properties etc. Nowhere is this Create Simple Volume Wizard coming up. NB. This is a Data disk who was Imaged as a test, then who's Volume was deleted. If you're not using the Native utility for this what are you using under Windows 7? Regards, Barry.

Hi, Are any of you folks that are using a Screen reader bothering with this? I've a Disk that I need to create a volume on. According to, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Create-and-format-a-hard-d… You click on the unallocated space in the graphical view. I've been all over the place. I can see the Disk I want but when i right click it's all Striped, Spanned, change to Dynamic, change from GDI, MBR, Properties etc. Nowhere is this Create Simple Volume Wizard coming up. NB. This is a Data disk who was Imaged as a test, then who's Volume was deleted. If you're not using the Native utility for this what are you using under Windows 7? Regards, Barry.
