I could use pro or enterprise edition I want to make this offline not related to Microsoft account. another point, any tutorials explain for me how to manage updates / another obtion via group policy / scripts for modify it. many thanks for your support

Security. Open conversation among system administrators?

Good afternoon, Security is a huge concern for me at the moment. Two institutions in Ireland were targeted with Ryuk over the past few weeks. I have no doubt that there are malicious acters targeting the institution I work for right now. I was wondering if a few of you would be up for a conversation via Zoom or Teams in the coming days. I can explain what we have done and what we are continuing to do to protect ourselves. You can do the same. Some of what we are doing might overlap but potentially we all might get a few new ideas. My infrastructure might be considered legacy compared to some. I'm still using on-prem systems for the most part. But I have some cloud based services as well. All system admins / architects would be welcome. Perhaps Wednesday at 10pm gmt? I don't know what that is in other time zones. But it's probably around 6pm eastern. Hi: Back in my sysadmin days, MMC crashes were very common, this isn't new to Windows 10, this has happened for me ever since Windows Vista. Back then I was using Window-Eyes as my screen reader, and whenever I opened Event Viewer, selected a log to view from the tree and tabbed into the list of events, I'd get MMC freezing up with a message that a snap-in was taking too long to respond. When I closed MMC and restarted things worked normally but I just got in the habit of expecting MMC to crash and needing to relaunch it. Event Viewer was the place where this happened the most regularly but I also saw it in a few other consoles, never the AD Users and Computer snap-in though but back when SCCM used the MMC to present its UI it happened all the time there too. So I wonder if what you're seeing isn't new but something that's been a problem in MMC for well over 10 years now? MMC always crashing on Win 10, Server 2016 and 2019

Hi all, I have various crashes in MMC using NVDA. I don't know if that also happens with JAWS. It happens regularly in WSUS, Event viewer and other tools that use MMC. Basically just navigating and viewing the events in event viewer brings it down and I need to kill the task. It at least happens under various versions of Windows 10, Server 2016 and 2019. This bug exists for a longer time now. I guess I reported it a few months already. Anyone knows what the bug is and if it will be fixed? Or is there a workaround i can use? Am I the only sysadmin who has that bug? Greetings and thanks, Simon

Azure cost calculator

Hi, Does anyone have any experience with using the Azure Cost calculator? I want to start using it to provide more budgetary costs for scenarios I am developing for, but find it not straightforward to use with dropdown lists which don't seem to speak correctly using JFW and Edge. Blind Makers Group?

Anybody know of a group for blind makers? Any interest in starting such a group if no such group currently exists? I am currently working on a project to create an accessible D&D module. The learning experience has been absolutely fascinating. I am creating a dungeon map by coding it by hand in postscript. I plan on converting the postscript to a format for a 3D printer. Once i learn how to do all this efficiently, I figure I can start making 3D maps for conventions and the like. I am going to help organize a convention for guide dog users in San Francisco in 2022. I am hoping to supply a 3D map of the hotel floor plan. I'd also like to get into home automation, robotics, etc. I'm already into woodworking. Hello, Are any of you writing PowerShell in VSCode? It has become unusable for me. I'm using the insider version. When I arrow through left and right over characters, Jaws and NVDA repeat a lot of characters with the result that characters are completely skipped. Take the word name. instead of n a m e, I very regularly hear n n m e. Or N a m m. I have heard from some people that can't reproduce this. I'm very frustrated as I encounter this on every workstation. Thanks Darragh

Working with Azure in the CLI.

Hello, I'm really interested in people's experiences with working on deploying resources in Azure exclusively in the CLI. Specifically, how do you keep track of everything? Or how do you know to check things. For example tonight I found that I could get the related deployments from a failed deployment then obtain the JSON from that so that I could use it in a support request. I don't see how that kind of joined up approach is available in the CLI. Sure, I can create a VM, disks, network interfaces etc, but even with a small subscription, it becomes hard to keep track of interdependencies. I'm sure this is just me. So I would love to hear how others manage this. Obviously thousands of people exclusively use the CLI every day. I just don't understand how. I was listening to a podcast a few days ago where the guest was talking about how intelisense made it way easier to pick from a list of resource groups, disks, vNets etc. This would make life way easier. But either this doesn't work when PSReadLine is disabled or Jaws / NVDA doesn't tell me when there are suggestions available. Any ideas? Thanks Darragh

What is the best way to access Windows server 2012 and 2016 instances in the cloud?

I've started a new job and may need to access Windows server 2012 and 2016 instances in Oracle cloud. What is the best way to do this? My thought is to have group policy install Jaws with remote access. Although I'm an NVDA user I don't want to be installing the remote access add-on into servers. I'm also not sold on the Unicorn remote access solution since I have not heard much about it good or bad. In my limited experience remote desktop with Jaws was pretty reliable. Thanks for any advice.
