Just thinking about this, if they had an MSDN account, you can get older versions of Visual Studio from there using the MSDN subscription.

My sincere thanks to the moderator for allowing me to post the following.
Having introduced a long-standing friend who is totally blind to a developer, he desperately needs a fully legal copy of Visual Studio 2008 Professional or Enterprise.
There is a bug in later versions of V.S. which affects the ability to add break points when developing add-ons for MS Word. Net result of course being that stepping through code is impossible.
Does anyone have a copy they wish to dispose of?
I'm NOT asking for anything free, and happy to pay a reasonable price.
