Not Only is Rim extremely expensive but the tech support is a lot to be desired. I got a 60-day trial and tech support took so long to get back to me that they gave me an extra 60-days. By that time I had already soured on the experience, I just moved on. To give you an example on how much they cared about a perspective customer, I was blown off one afternoon because the tech support person had to finish a podcast that she had to finish. I would normally not care about that except that I was promised to get back to and wasn't at all. I had to constatntly email/call/leave messages to get things answered. I am only relaying my own experience with the product. Once I got the person on the phone, she was extremely nice and definitely gave me great support. But getting to that point was a nightmare. Are we trying to use TeamViewer for Remote Desktop (RDP?) or are you looking into going from PC to Mac? To my knowledge and I hope this changes, Mac's do not carry sound through any sort of VPN/RDP
From PC to PC I have successfully used the combination of Jaws on my workstation and loading a portable version of NVDA. You don't have to load a display mirror driver like JFW on the other computer so this works right out of the box.
You can use the remote option of JFW as well but this requires a 200 dollar fee for Freedom to press a few buttons and 45 dollars for a dongle that you will need on your end bringing the total of $245 plus shipping and handling. The caveat to this is that you will have to install a full version of JFW on the computer you are remoting into. Darragh, I've never done it, but I have a friend who has. I'm not sure exactly how he does it, except that he is evidently able to hear the other computer's audio. I rather suspect this has to be done using stereo mix or similar, but, again, not having done it, I don't know. It is something I'm going to be experimenting with, because I find System Access's RIM connectivity flakey & that for a pretty expensive price tag. Hello,
I think I've probably seen this come up a few times but do any of you have a way of using team viewer?
A lot of what I need to do remotely is read debug messages in the browser.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
