FYI the web GUI on at least the DS411 Synology model is almost unusable with JFW. It is possible to enable ssh and edit the Samba and other configuration files. Buyer beware. Chris On Wed, January 15, 2014 12:51 pm, Andrew Hodgson wrote:
Hi,
Sinology also allow SSH access, I don't know if either has a usable web GUI. I think Sinology has more use than the Drobo stuff, you can install PHP websites on the device and set up mail servers and the like if you want.

Apparently it is possible to install ssh on the device and log in to administer the device. It runs Linux.
Thanks
