All, I have just used the Jabber client for iOS and it works with all the features that Mario and others want. EG: You can see who have left you a voice mail and the last person’s who have rung. Plus you can make a call from the iOS app using the person profile details. So the iOS app is very accessible. I do have the later version of Jabber, need to check to see how recent or voice mail works. Not at work for a few days, so I will get back to you all. Sean

If you have not managed to locate the Jabber scripts, please let me know and I can send you these. Anyone who's using it. Going from 10.6 to 11.0, has anyone noticed any changes? I particularly don't like the fact that each time I restart jabber, I have to reconfigure audio settings to a particular sound card, so jaws doesn't suddenly talk from main speaker instead of headphones when jabber notifications are played. The other thing is that the advanced settings do not currently read as well as the recents list, I was told by Cisco that this would be addressed in the next release.

This is correct. Adium works with Jabber IM only. The latest Jabber versions allow you to control your phone.

I had decent luck with Jabber on the Mac but this was as of March or so this year.
Where I work now does not have jabber. You might also try Adium. Adium works very well and has the ability to connect to jabber servers I believe.

Jabber used to work well on Mac, then I upgraded and something broke. Cisco were honest enough to say it was pure luck that it worked in the first place, and though they have an open ticket to improve support for screen-readers, it keeps falling down their priority list.
The solutions offered to me were Jaws scripts, or a third party soft phone.
I am not a JFW fan and don't feel that offering scripts that may break in the future is a viable option really, though it's a start.
The company I work for luckily were happy to pay for the soft phone.
It would have been great if Cisco should have been up front about this and absorved the cost of the soft phone, but I guess we're a long way away from that.
Cheers, Jen.

Hi,
If you need to use Jabber, then version 10.6 from memory the scripts have been optimised for. I am using 11.xx and they still work. There are some slight differences between the two version in relation to the scripts.
The recommendation is 10.6 and the scripts are found on the Cisco.com <http://cisco.com/> <http://cisco.com/ <http://cisco.com/>> <http://cisco.com/ <http://cisco.com/> <http://cisco.com/ <http://cisco.com/>>> site.

Hi all. When researching the topic i found the following link about Cisco jaber accessibility from 2014 which points to the discussion on this list: https://lists.hodgsonfamily.org/pipermail/blind-sysadmins/2014-June/004245.h... However i saw that possible accessibility fixes has bean changed during 2015. So my question is, if jaws scripts work now well with Cisco jabber, is it possible to read now status of the call logs? If yes, can someone send the jaws scripts for the app privately to me. I need the info asap for my gf who works in the Eu parliament. Thanks.
