RAM makes the remote user accept the connection. There are ways to have the connection automatically accept on the remote end, but so far those haven't been working properly for me, and isn't how I'd use it most of the time anyway. My understanding is RIM works in an environment using Serotek's servers at all times, RAM is for a corperate network where you have your own server. We've just purchased and started using RIM which has worked quite well so far. Only been using it a few days, but 4 different sessions worked properly and had very little delay. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ryan Shugart" <rshugart@pcisys.net> To: "Blind sysadmins list" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Monday, May 03, 2010 6:59 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] connect remotely?
Out of curiosity has anyone here actually set up and used RAM? We're looking at it right now where I work, for helpdesk situations, and while the product looks good we're running into quite a few issues with it, particular when dealing with machines in remote offices, the connections just aren't that stable. Hi,
Firstly, can you please make sure you post from the address you subscribe from? Currently I am approving all your posts. I did mention this to you before.
As to your question, is this in a helpdesk situation or on a personal level with just two computers? If the later, and you can get the demo version of Jaws installed, then Tandem will do what you want. If a work situation, then the best product for this currently is RAM from Serotek http://serotek.com/, but it depends on exactly what you want to do on the remote end and how often you want to do it.
Andrew.

hello friends: I need to use remote desktop or any another good remote software, to manage and fix computer via jaws. how? can I use in mine jaws or NVDA and use the narrator on another? to transfer audio? I think as a help desk will not able to run jaws on all company computers to able to manage, but narrator is found in all XP and windows 7 by default. thanks beero
