I am 100% linux but I write all my php in a plain text editor. I use gedit but that's a linux program. The Windows equivalent is notepad. I'll admit though that it might be nice to have an integrated evelopment environment. Twenty five years ago when I was writing a lot of visual basic, I liked the editor I was using because I could type in a function name and it would list the parameters I needed to fill in. I am always googling function names in php so I can see what parameters the function call takes. But probably 30% of my job is writing php and I still just use a text editor.
