Interesting ... the T110 has both USC and DRAC ... though not sure whether it actually has remote capabilities or just the bare implementation for it ... I'll have to look, considering its aging just a bit at this point. I'll definitely be sure to pay attention next time on my next server; after all, I know a bit more than I did six years ago. The way it was done before I left my last place was the whole thing was in flash and could be upgraded, but license files had to be used to upgrade to the enterprise feature set on the Drac. We used the enterprise licenses to get AD authentication in on the Dracs. USC doesn't need a license just the USC installed on the flash. There are a number of ways to get started, one of the easiest ways is to use the SD card in the front of the server, that can have the relevant scripts and ISO files on the card, then that is used to provision the server. LOL. If anyone has any resources on it, that'd be great. I've got a Dell PowerEdge T110, though that could change, depending on a couple of things. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Andrew Hodgson Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2017 8:47 AM To: Blind sysadmins list <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] News on Accessible WIN PE & WIN RE via Windows 10 Insiders build Hi, Yes, I think this is going to be more beneficial to the desktop rather than the server OS. I never tried it, but have you tried using the remote scripted server provisioning system found on newer Dell server hardware with Unified Server Configurator installed? USC was fab for us when I worked on real servers as it installed the OS with all the latest certified Dell drivers etc. You can apparently script everything from powering on the server, configuring the BIOS, inserting the relevant ISOs etc. I would love to get my hands on this now, but when I used it it just wasn't a priority and we didn't have the infrastructure for it at the time. LOL Anyway ... this is great, though the huge barrier to it will be server-class hardware; often no audio unless provided later, and even getting to the boot manager on a server is hard ... my dell PowerEdge is a PRE-boot nightmare. Not even the Dell representative I spoke to one time understood why I needed audio on a server; plus, too many companies see it as a security risk; never heard of anything more ridiculous. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of mattias jonsson Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2017 4:37 AM To: Blind sysadmins list <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] News on Accessible WIN PE & WIN RE via Windows 10 Insiders build seems levtec can go away with the winstaller Den 2017-01-09 kl. 22:37, skrev Anatoliy Shudrya:
This is like a dream coming true. WinPE with narrator, awesome! Looking forward to test it out and see how far I can get with troubleshooting PC in pre-installation environment. Also wonder if it will work with existing PCs or new builds only. Grate news!
