I don't mind at all. Can't be happier to have my Excel back. :d Thank you -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Timothy Spaulding Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2017 5:18 AM To: Blind sysadmins list <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Excel 2016 crashes, solved! Hi, I am glad this is working for you now. I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to share your steps with others on how you got everything working. Thank you everyone who responded to this. It was very frustrating when excel crashed on the admin workstation, especially after I did whole OS reinstall, applications reinstalling, configuring etc. Timothy, I don't think I will send the crash dump file now, I got it all fixed. Here is what happened: I have reinstalled my OS from manufacture recovery disks, installed JAWS, NVDA, and of course first stop to uninstall all manufacture bloatware. On the list was Ms. Office 2010, I have uninstalled it and proceeded with setup of office 365 ProPlus. This is where all crashes started. Oh, little did I know that I needed to use Microsoft easy fix to completely remove partially preinstalled Office 2010 by Lenovo. The uninstall from programs and features did not work at all, even when everything seemed to be uninstalled. Tonight, after a day off out of office. Remotely logged in, uninstalled office 365, rebooted machine, ran MicrosoftEasyFix50450 to remove all remnants of office 2010 partial preinstall, installed fresh office 365 and voila, excel works like a charm. I recall this have helped me multiple times already, when dealing between different versions of office; don't know why I could not think straight yesterday. One time in-place upgrade from office 365 2013 to office 365 2016 crashed my outlook, the other time installing office 365 2016 crashed end-user's excel because I didn't uninstall office 2010 beforehand. It seems like fresh copy of office, no matter what package cannot coexist with any older versions of office packages, at least in my observations/experiences. What I don't have is a Windows 7 environment with the current branch of Office 2016 O365. The closest I have is Windows 7 with the deferred branch of O365. For those that do have a lot of crashes, please share your Windows and Office versions. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Eigeldinger Simon Sent: Wednesday, August 23, 2017 1:28 AM To: Blind sysadmins list <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Excel 2016 crashes Hi, Seems to work fine over here: Win 7 Pro 64 Bit Office 2016 Pro Plus 32 bit Microsoft Excel 2016 Version 16.0.4266.1001 Agreed, this copy hasn't been updated for a while. I have Office 365 2016 32 bit on a fresh new OS, windows 7 professional 64 bit and excel just won't work no metter what. When I turn off JAWS, the spreadsheet works just fine, when I have either JAWS or NVDA or even Narrator on, the spreadsheet crashes. All other applications from office suite work perfectely fine, just excel acting up. Any tips or suggestions?
