Well, you can apply filtering rules on the command line too, and you can also monitor the output on the terminal - but, yes, you do need to know (or look up) the filter syntax. -----Original Message----- From: mhysnm1964@gmail.com [mailto:mhysnm1964@gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 23, 2018 5:17 PM To: 'Blind sysadmins list' <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Cc: 'Jason White' <jason@jasonjgw.net> Subject: RE: [Blind-sysadmins] Wire shark accessibility Jason, Very true the Tshark is accessible. But is no where as easy or as feature rich as the GUI client. AS in the GUI client you can select a stream of data you are interested and far far more. The TShark CLI you have to learn all the parameters and really understand the protocols. Thus why most network engineers use the GUI. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Jason White via Blind-sysadmins Sent: Wednesday, 24 January 2018 4:50 AM To: blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org Cc: Jason White <jason@jasonjgw.net> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Wire shark accessibility The console version, tshark, is of course highly accessible and useful. I've used it more than once. Barry Toner <barry@tonermail.co.uk> wrote:
Hi all,
Just wondering if any of you folks are using this and if you can comment on it's accessibility?
Thanks, Barry. _______________________________________________ Blind-sysadmins mailing list Blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org https://lists.hodgsonfamily.org/listinfo/blind-sysadmins
