Thanks for all the answers. Ctrl+alt+break is what I needed. What do you mean by browsing using c$. If I use \\computername\d\foldername in the run dialogue on the remote PC, would I be able to transfer files and folders across computers? By the way the controlling system is win7, and remote is XP so this is what prevents me from copying freely. Thank you! Hi,
I think the issue may be XP on the remote computer doesn't support the new RDP protocols found in Vista and later. That being said, I am able to do the copy and paste thing in both directions between Win 2003 R2 SP2 machines and my Win7 pro machine at work.
I tend not to use the drive mapping thing in RDP as I prefer to browse to the remote file share (c$, d$), even if it means opening up another hole in the firewall. I don't like the idea of a remote machine having full access to an internal systems drive.
Andrew.

Thank you! It works perfectly. But I still can't copy and paste. I use windows7 starter on the local system and xp sp3 on the remote computer. I still haven't find a way to make xp remember that I want to mount some drives automaticly. Also I have some keys sticking down. and causing trouble. Hi,
I do this by pressing ctrl+alt+pause (also called the break key but that probably shows my age :))
When you do this, you will be in the remote desktop still, but the screen won't be maximised, so you can alt+tab and you will be on the local machine again, and can copy and paste stuff to and from this.
Thanks. Andrew.

Hello,
I'm using Remote desktop connection. What I need is to copy files between the local and the remote computer. I want to easily switch between the RDP and the local desktop using the keyboard. Does anybody here knows the secret?
Negoslav
