Hello, Thanks. The drive is physically fine it's not failing, I just need to get it virtualized so I can more easily troubleshoot something. Can I then take the vhd and put it in a vm? Thanks. Dave. On 3/29/18, Katherine M. Moss via Blind-sysadmins <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> wrote:
I would not recommend imaging a failing drive. You want to do that with a pure one that doesn't have any flaws. There is a tool in the Sysinternals pile called Disk2VHD, which does the physical to virtual thing you are referring to.

Hello,
I've got a drive that's acting up. What I want to do is image it, get a complete image, then load that in to a virtual machine. Is this doable?
Thanks. Dave.
