I haven't had trouble distinguishing letters and digits when dropped digits
are used (e.g., in computer braille). I suppose you could precede the hex
string with "0x", which would clarify the position of the first
letter/digit.

Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] hexadecimal in braille?
How is hex indicated in braille? Constantly having to escape strings of
digits and letters with the number and letter signs sounds super bulky. I
know 8 dot braille uses dropped numbers, but that would make letters and
digits harder to discern.
