Hi, Yes, RIM has its own built in screen reader. SO if you connect to a machine using Teamviewer so long as that machine has a screen reader, you will hear it. If however, you want to connect to a machine that has no screen reader, then RIM's own will kick in. In other words, TeamViewer doesn't have its own screen reader, so RIM allows you to connect to machines with no screen reader in the first place. Again, I cant install a screen reader on any remote machines. The only way I have of reading the remote system is to use a portable and cut down version of NVDA. Therefore, is ther any benefit to RIM over team viewer? -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Steve Nutt Sent: 29 July 2013 12:52 To: 'Blind sysadmins list' Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Rim verses teamviewer? Hi, There is no reason you can't install a screen reader remotely using RIM. I have certainly installed Window-Eyes using it. You allow RIM's own screen reader to kick in on connection, then install. Once the machine reboots, it should load Window-Eyes and you can reconnect. Hello, Has anyone used RIM by serotek? How does it measure up when compared to teamviewer? Are there any advantages by using Rim? I cant install a screen reader on any remote machines I need to connect to so this is a huge problem for me. RIM won't get around this I'm quite sure. Any ideas?
