Hi, The story behind this server was it was running the BCAB list which made it worthwhile to keep it running, I was effectively providing a donation. However they decided to go with another provider so will be moving away from this server, which means all the box is doing now is hosting a couple of lists which isn't worth the money which is why I want it gone. If I had other lists to host I would still be inclined to keep it, the box was recently revamped a few months ago to take more lists on Mailman3 as well. Fast forward to 2020 and I've outsourced large amounts of the services that I was previously running, massively downgraded the spec on my VPS and reduced all of the local infrastructure down to one low spec second hand desktop with everything Dockerized on top of Alpine. As the main reason for keeping this server around has now gone as the client has moved elsewhere, I will look to move this list elsewhere and shut down lists.hodgsonfamily.org. I am probably going to choose Google Groups unless there is a reason anyone hates them with a passion.
