Thanks - I thought the interface would be fairly busy on the Ubiquity side. The USG (which is the Ubiquiti router) on the base model is fairly small and I don't know whether it has the horsepower to do the 1GBPs, will be doing more research.
I did just browse https://demo.ui.com and didn't seem to get anywhere on first use, but your results seem more encouraging so I will give it more of a go. No PFSense demo site I can see by the looks, and I don't want to use a VM right now to test.
If I go PFSense I need to sort out wireless access points as well which is another thing to look at.

Hello Andrew
The Ubiquity Access Point interface works with Chrome and JAWS or NV Access. Very busy though. If You decide to go with an AP it uses POE and doesn't let you do anything until it downloads and installs the most up-to-date firmware.
One would think that the Ubiquity routers would have the same level of accessibility.
