Barry, I don't remember seeing your original message but I've just found it so it did send. If I had scene it then I would have been able to tell you that you can just keep on pressing enter and eventually it will boot. I'm not 100% sure that I've been dumped into the re before, but from what you've described it sounds like the same sort of thing I've experienced. The launch repair option starts an automated repair process and after 1/2 reboots you should hear the login screen sound. Probably would have been more helpfull at the time, but hopefully someone will benefit. Cheers, Ben. On 1/14/12, Barry Toner <barry@barry-toner.co.uk> wrote:
Hi folks,
I posted the other day, that my machine kept booting up in the WRE. Really because of a few improper shutdowns. I thought that it's UI was like the Boot menu with F8. i.e. 1, then return would boot in normal mode. I've since got some eyes on the case and to boot in normal mode if you get yourself stuck in the WRE, it's down cursor once, then return. No numbering at all. By default it's sat on launch repair or somesuch. Which presumably brings up further windows.
I thought I'd pass this along, as there was no responses and this might help out folks in future.
Regards,
Barry.
