Ryan, I'm extremely impressed with the accessibility of Teams on Windows across multiple components of the app. It's very clear that lots of attention got paid to detail. But in order to realize just how good the accessibility is, one must toggle off the virtual cursor and let the app guide you. That's where teams really seems to shine. That combined with knowing a handful of hotkeys makes Teams quite usable and gives it a feel very much like a standard Win32 desktop app. A couple of us have had similar positive results, so it's not just me. In the interest of full disclosure, this has been in a test environment and use in real life may show off accessibility issues that we've not yet seen. --Glen Glen Gordon VFO | Vice President & Chief Technology Officer 11800 31st Court North, St. Petersburg, FL 33716 T 727-299-6230 ggordon@vfo-group.com www.vfo-group.com -----Original Message----- From: Ryan Shugart <rshugart@ryanshugart.com> Sent: Monday, June 25, 2018 1:29 PM To: Blind sysadmins list <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] Re: using slack with Jaws Andrew/anyone who wants to chime in, has anyone tried Teams and if so how does it compare to Slack accessibiliitywise? Using the mobile app is probably the best way at the moment especially for notifications. The web interface works for me but I have to read conversations from the bottom up, as we pay for Slack where I work which gives a very long history. The other thing is that threads really cause me problems, so I don't use them, which annoys my co-workers. Andrew. ________________________________________ From: Katherine M. It does work, For I know this because I've used this in the past, I never liked it very much. You'll get used to it, eventually. I find it using it on mobile makes things a lot easier. My immediate thoughts about it is that although it is accessible, it is not very usable. There is a lot going on and too much clutter. I would be interested to hear any tips/advice on how other people get around it? Many thanks for your advice.
