Using my home computer, navigated to Newegg.com. Logged in and went to "Order History" section. Firefox browser, JAWS. I would turn off JAWS, turn on NVDA read a little with NVDA on the order history page and then turn off NVDA and turn on JAWS back again. 1 out of 2 times JAWS just won't read anything on the page. Tested with Chrome browser, and it is same kind of behavior, pretty much 1 out of 2 times it would work and not work. This is fine because when I refreshed browser with F5 key, JAWS would start reding page no problem in this kind of test. I have tried with IE and it worked fine in this test on the Newegg.com website. Ran a second test on the recksolutions.com website. I added2 items to cart., went to cart, checkout, checkout as guest, started filling out my info, first name, last name etc., turn off jaws, turn on NVDA, read some information on the page and then turn off NVDA, turn on JAWS back again and nothing can be read on the screen. In this case I can try only insert escape or tab, because if I refresh with F5 all entered data will be gone. I have also tried to turn off and turn JAWS several times, no luck. Same thing 1 out of 2 it would not work. These are just very basic quick tests, as I mentioned previously, it would always happen on a very serious/important sessions, when I spend 2-3 hours find correct parts online, add them to cart and then get stock towards the end of checkout. I would say it happens most often on the pages when I fill out data and can't use F5 key to refresh browser; even though, it happened many times when I tried to refresh browser with F5 key to no avail. Simon seams to be pointing to a right direction. It feels though like something is not loading after I fire up JAWS. Firefox Version: 66.03 Have a great weekend everyone! I have tried posting this to the JAWS list but maybe admins use different screen readers more often and can relate. I have been long time user of JAWS and it seams to me that the problem that I experience started with the latest windows and latest browsers. JAWS would stop reading anything on the browser after I make a switch from different screen reader such as NVDA. I am visually impaired and use both screen readers to navigate on the webpages. Sometimes NVDA would read things that JAWS won't and vice versa. So, for example in the middle of my cession on the web browser, I would decide to switch to NVDA, turn off JAWS, turn on NVDA, get my business done with NVDA and then turn on JAWS back again. After this series of steps JAWS would not read browser window no matter what, the only way to have JAWS read the browser window is to close it down and restart it. Many times it is impossible because I am in the middle of application fill out, purchase order or configuration page. I have tried to refresh the page, using insert escape to no avail. Using tab won't help as well. Tried to turn off and turn on JAWS several times, still no luck. Has anybody experienced similar kind of behavior with JAWS? Is there any trick getting it back to read? I get this with Chrome, Internet Explore and Firefox. Latest Win 10 Pro. OS and latest browsers. Also noticed that it happens often on the heavy coded pages with lots of JAWA code and forms. Any help appreciated.
