Jacon, I just got that error yesterday with nvda yesterday. Looking for a work around, will let you know when I find one. On 11/4/2022 9:57 AM, Fayre, Jason wrote:
Hi all, Unfortunately, I can't use Winbuilder in this case. I need to modify an existing PE image that was created internally. I've managed to build a Win PE image using the Windows ADK and boot it. Interestingly, I can only boot an AMD64 image. If I try to boot an x86 image, it won't boot. When I try to run NVDA under the amd64 image, I get an error that nvda.exe isn't compatible with this version of Windows. Could this be because NVDA is a 32-bit app and this is a 64-bit image? I know on regular Windows this doesn't matter, but Win PE could be different. Thanks!

Hi.
The problem I have isn't so much getting NVDA started but getting any usable audio.
Thanks. Andrew.

Hi, you might try shift f 10 when the image has booted, then navigate with the command prompt to get to the directory and start nvda. With sighted help the first time you could also envoke notepad and use it like your opening a file and see what drives windows has made to find the nvda directory.

Hi.
I've never managed to get this working on anything other than the Windows setup image. This includes the WinRE recovery environment you can boot into from your machine.
Let us know if you get it working. Andrew.

Hi all, I posted this a few weeks ago, but don't think it went through for some reason. At my company, we use a Windows PE USB key to start the process of building a new Windows machine. I thought that Narrator was included in Windows PE, but I'm discovering that it isn't. Has anyone been able to get NVDA running on Windows PE? I know this was done years ago, but that was with a Windows 7 PE image. I'm going to take a crack at integrating NVDA, but wondered if anyone has experience with this.
