I'm not sure that's possible, the nat router only binds to one network card. Perhaps by creating your own virtual router and doing bridging there, but that would be quite a bit of work and overhead. Why would you want to do this anyway? This is good to know. What if i would want to be connected to the two separate networks at the same time, both natted? Thanks. Dave. On 3/6/10, Ryan Shugart <rshugart@pcisys.net> wrote:
Hi: Actually, in the case of Workstation specifically, you shouldn't have to do anything. So long as the VM is set to NAT, then the machine is behind a virtual NAT router that talks to whatever network card on the host has a connection. Just like when you switch to wireless and don't have to do anything with your web browser or other software, they just know, workstation will know and adjust its virtual router accordingly. The VM, safe behind the virtual router on the NAT network, won't be any the wiser. Ryan

Hi,
If you have a wireless card on the host machine you need to ensure that it is also in NAT mode since bridging mode is not allowed for wireless network cards on the host.
Were you using two network cards on the guest (one going through the wired and one going through the wireless connection)?
Andrew.

Hi, Is anyone using vmware workstation 7.0? I've got a vm, a gentoo vm specifically, but i suppose any kind would work, that has a single virtual nic on it. This one is in nat mode. It connects to my wired network. There are times when i want this vm to connect wirelessly, i've added another nic and here i'm stuck. If anyone has a vm, linux prefered, windows if not, connecting to a wireless network only i'd be very interested. Thanks. Dave.
