Hi there. First, I’m using voice over so I’m not sure how useful this will be. I find that the basic functions (creation, changing states, updating and so forth work reasonably well. What I do is use the tab key and just progress through the fields. Some things that can be problematic are narrowing up and down through choices of say projects but the search functions are accessible so a possible work around. Tab completion also works so if you know part of the project name you can hit take and it fills in. Same for different task types (incident verses bug and so forth). I haven’t tried it with Jaws but I will now to see if I get the same results.

Scott,
How do you use it?
I tried creating a project today and it was completely unusable. At several points Jaws couldn't read any of the page at all. It was playing the forms mode sound but giving me no other information.
When I was able to read things by turning off the virtual PC cursor, controls such as a check box that I couldn't find when I tried to tab back to it moved position with a seemingly randem order.
So, I'm very interested to hear how you use it.
Thanks
Darragh

+1 on Jira here, have used it very successfully now at several gigs.

Hi,
What Jira issues are you having? We use it at work and whilst I'm not a TPM I haven't had any major problems.
Cheers, Ben.

We currently don't have a single application to track projects. There is one web based application that my team doesn't have to use, because our projects are deemed not complex enough for the system. This is a good thing, because many of the elements of that application are not accessible yet.
We are looking into the web version of MS Project and I have not been successful in finding anything that talks about its accessibility or lack thereof. Our primary tool is Excel which is fine with me. It works well and does the job when it comes to tracking multiple projects. Then each project has its own folder on a web based document management system which used to be called PC Docs a long time ago. I don't know what it's current generic name is since we changed it to sound like a Government of Canada application. We like to do those types of things.
Although clunky it is accessible and I can update the spread sheets and add folders and Word documents that have my project team meeting notes for those groups I lead. It even allows us to put in email messages.
This is a huge improvement from when we used SharePoint. I never achieved a comfortable level of proficiency with SharePoint.

Hello,
What do you use for project management? It doesn't need to be the most complicated or feature rich application in the world but it needs to be accessible to a screen reader user.
I had hoped Jira would do the job but it doesn't look like it is accessible enough. _______________________________________________ Blind-sysadmins mailing list Blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org https://lists.hodgsonfamily.org/listinfo/blind-sysadmins
