I have rejected use of Bitlocker because of this lack of audible signal. It would certainly cause me problemss. When My company wanted to move to it from PGP We looked for a solution with Bitlocker but found none. PGP however does have an audible bleep that can be configured to sound when the pw prompt appears. If you get the pw right, it does two beeps with the second a higher pitch than the first and if you get it wrong the second beep is lower than the first. I wish the Bitlocker developers would take a leaf out of the PGP developers' books. It is all possible if there is only the will to do it amongst these sw companies. Are there any particular hints/tips you can give. i.e. when you get the pin wrong, do you have to press enter again to return to the edit field? or can you accidentally press tab and move out of the pin textfield? Hi,
We also use BitLocker on laptops, and similarly, I just enter the pin as soon as I power up the machine.
It would be nice to have a beep confirmation, but this has never given me trouble.
I have had trouble sometimes knowing if the unit is powered on or not because there is no cdrom drive, and the fan is sometimes silent, and I don't think there is a battery you can take out. This is sometimes an issue coming out of sleep or hibernation, etc.

Hi,
No it is not possible. I have looked for this before.
With my Bitlocker encrypted laptop I just know to enter in the password when the system starts, that usually happens very quickly and it is the first thing to pop up even before Windows starts to load.
The password doesn't expire either on my system so that is good.

Hi All, I am emailing on behalf of a friend who works at a company where bitlocker is used for encrypting devices. As you may know it requires the entering of a personal pin to login to the machine, however it is not possible to determine when the login screen is visible on screen. I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a setting to enable any audible beeps or similar to enhance the accessibility of this?
Thank you Chamandeep singh Grover
