Slave the drive in another box, download http://cmrr.ucsd.edu/people/Hughes/SecureErase.shtml And then run it on the drive. Note that you have to have the drive connected directly to the board as apposed to via usb, since the program uses the secure erase command built into the ata command set to whipe the drive which it is unable to do via usb.
