Oh thanks for the info Andrew. I must admit it was just the edge variety I occasionally look after. Disappointing that you don’t get a standard Linux command line interface though. Cheers Chris Turner Sent from mobile.

Hi.
Be aware that on Ubiquiti its just the Edge routers that have the CLI. The Unifi routers have SSH access into a Linux OS but I've never been able to do anything with the router with that access, the backend for this is quite complex with a Postgres database etc.
Andrew.

I would suggest have a look at Ubiquiti or Draytek. The former I prefer for its command line interface though the web interface can do a lot. The latter is okay once you get used to it. I am using Windows and mainly jaws.

Ryan, Mikrotik is a good choice if you want the option of CLI management. Are you still in Seattle? If so, you can use them with Centurylink (If configured properly) but IPV6 is a bit more fiddly because of 6rd. I imagine Astound, Google Fibre, Ziply, and Comcast (with a connected modem) would also work well.

Hi: I am moving into a new home, and as part of the process tossed out my relyable but old Airport Extreme router that I’ve had for the past few years and am looking for something new. Was wondering if there were recommendations on good, accessible routers that would be worth looking into? I do not know who my ISP will be yet so am just sticking to plane routers for now and am mainly looking for feedback on some good accessible options I can look at. I’d like something on the advanced side but perhaps not quite enterprise grade, but something that will give me features to play with but also let me get going relatively quickly. Thanks a lot.
