I don't think so. I'm no longer in charge though. I just got tired of being criticized for everything I did. No seriously hard feelings though. Just a little. At any rate, someone else has taken over. The web site is www.iavit.org (note the slight name change) so you can check there for progress. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank Ventura" <Frank.Ventura@littlebreezes.com> To: "Bill Gallik" <BillGallik@centurytel.net>; "Blind sysadmins list" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Friday, February 06, 2009 3:30 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] IAVICP Board of Directors

Hi John,
I am a (prematurely) retired software engineer who worked for 20 years for Bell Labs out of Naperville, IL. I now live in Superior, Wisconsin and am trying with very little success to find another computer related job. I would be quite interested in this group as well as possibly serving as a board member. ---*---*---*---*---*--- Sincerely, Bill Gallik E-Mail: BillGallik@centurytel.net No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John G. All,
After my latest call for opinions on forming a group for visually impaired computer professionals, I got a little bit more interest. So we have decided to proceed with formation of this organization.
The purpose of the organization is threefold: 1. To serve as a source for information on adaptive techniques for visually impaired computer professionals. 2. To serve as a source for social networking for visually impaired computer professionals. 3. To serve as an advocate for visually impaired professionals.
The first thing we need to do is form a board of directors. Anyone interested in serving on the board should email me at jheim@math.wisc.edu as soon as possible. You need not be an American to be on the board of directors. In fact, international interest is welcome.
I have already contacted a lawyer about getting tax exempt status in the United States. We need to have a board of directors to get tax exempt status. We already have enough people to legally create a board of directors but I was hoping for 2 or 3 more people to bring the total to 5 or 6.
