Hi, We also use BitLocker on laptops, and similarly, I just enter the pin as soon as I power up the machine. It would be nice to have a beep confirmation, but this has never given me trouble. I have had trouble sometimes knowing if the unit is powered on or not because there is no cdrom drive, and the fan is sometimes silent, and I don't think there is a battery you can take out. With my Bitlocker encrypted laptop I just know to enter in the password when the system starts, that usually happens very quickly and it is the first thing to pop up even before Windows starts to load.
