Yes and no. Linux is generally Linux. Tools and commands are usually the same or very similar. However, there are some noticeable differences. Package managers (yum verses apt-get) and file layouts are a couple of main differences. If you no how to do something on one flavor, you generally can figure out how to do it on a different flavor.
