Dear friends, I have spended plemty of hours during triing to find The reliable free program for creating USB bootable Windows Xp installation flash drive. Does somebody of us find some free tool to perform this task?
I have tried Pe to USB, special .cmd script, many tools available on Tech republic forum, but none of those tools worked for me. I have got error message, that hal.dll can not be find, and eventhough my harddrive have NTFS primary partition prepared, nothink worked.
It is not possible to simply use syslinux on bootable USB to load setuplbr.bin from I386 folder.
Sardu is using confusing approach, they included some part of WIndows XP PRO SP1 little .iso and after some time while initialising XP setup, i Am getting The message, that GRUB need to enter The password.
Does somebody know about really functioning approach?
Thank You for Yours answer.
Yes, i can use some Windows XP live CD with special NTsetup program, which is capable to transferr installation files of XP to harddrive and after restart, it start to copy files from special folders on The harddrive. But unfortunattely, this approach worked for me only, when i have firstly formatted harddisk by using XP standard installer while booting from original XP installacion CD, when i have used no fast format to NTFS from Windows PE nevironment, when i written XP MBR code by using testdisk and when i have tried special NT installer from Windows PE, after system restart, The system could not be booted.
It is really important to use bootable USB stick with Windows XP installer because of modern mini notebooks and netbooks.
Any advice will be very welcomed. With kindness regards. Janusz Chmiel
