Hi: Agreed, that would be very unexpected if they had released a 32-bit version. I'm not seeing one on MSDN or on my company's VL site so I'd presume the answer's no. Much of Microsoft's new server software is 64-bit only, Exchange 2007 kicked off the trend, and with Exchange 2010 there won't even be 32-bit management tools. There's still a couple of server products, such as Team Foundation Server, that are 32-bit only but those are being phased out. Beyond the 64-bitness, if you have a machine that will run the 64-bit version of Windows 7 you should be good to go. If it's a lower end machine it might not run much else but it should be good enough to get you going and get it working. One note, no version of 2008 R2 enables the Windows Audio service by default, so you'll have to do that once its installed. If Windows 7 sees your sound card though, Server 2008 R2 should as well. Hi, That would be a significant u-turn if they did this. All the testing/beta versions were 64-bit only, and MS has really been pushing 64-bit stuff now for quite some time. The original 2008 server is both 32-bit and 64-bit (you install whichever version is right for your environment). I have never used the 32-bit edition of 2008 server however. One odd issue I'm seeing is if I RDP into a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine and run a screen reader, the visual display freezes, and nothing goes into the screen reader's offscreen model, but otherwise the screen reader runs. In this case I'm using Window-Eyes 7.1. Out of curiosity is anyone else seeing this with any screen reader? Thanks.
