Thank you, Jason, for confirming this. I should’ve checked my other workstations beforehand.
Apparently, it’s acting like this only on one of my systems. Probably something with video drivers. My teens like to tweak those up for best performance.

It's in focus when I started it on either of the Windows 10 systems to which I have access. I don't know what the salient difference between your system and mine might be.

I believe it used to always start in the messages pane. Now I have to alt tab to bring it to focus.
Is it acting the same way in standard office 2019 apps as well?
