Hi, No screen reader will work with Win2k3 X64. As others have said it may be a 32-bit version, but you need to check. If you can browse to the c$ share of the server, you can find out whether it is 32 or 64-bit by looking at the Program files folder - if 64-bit it will have two folders. Go to the Dell site and enter in the service tag, you can find out the original equipment shipped with the server. You can also download the two Dell startup disks - namely the Dell Server Build and Update utility and the Dell Server Updates utility. These are large downloads, but are worth it - the later one will upgrade firmware etc, and the first will allow you to do installs with all the correct drivers and certifications etc. If I were you and had access to the licenses I would upgrade that to 2008 server (or 2008 server R2) 64-bit edition. Thanks. Andrew. -----Original Message----- From: blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Frank Ventura Sent: 26 September 2009 01:37 To: Blind sysadmins list Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] Win 2k3 64 and screen readers Hi all, I have inherited the responsibility of managing a Dell PE 2900 with Win 2k3. Since it has 8 gigs of memory I assume it is the 64 bit version of Win 2k3. Does anyone know what screen reader(s) I can get to work on it. Can the 64 bit version of JFW work in this scenario? Also on a related note if I have the service tag from the server is there anywhere on the Dell site where I can punch it in and find out just what equipment it was built with?
