I'll link off to your article from ours so people can pick either. that is such an odd domain name I never remember what it is. If I link it from our wiki I'll remember to go there and check what's new :) Regards, Kerry. On 18/09/2012 9:20 PM, John Heim wrote:
Another source for information on doing an automated install is on the wiiki of the International Association of Visually Impaired Technologists.

The instructions there are pretty similar to the ones on the cucat wiki.
The one personal note I'd add is that while using the Windows Automated Installation Kit is a little confusing at first, once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy. I probably do 2 or 3 Windows 7 installs a week with my answer file and I simply edit it in a text editor each time I want to modify the install. When i first started doing that I made a lot of mistakes and the installation would hang. But now I know what i can change and what I cannot change without messing up my answer file.
Honestly, i think I'm better at installing Win7 than my sighted co-worker who is officially supposed to be in charge of Windows. I'm supposed to be the linux nerd. The point is that if you get to be good with the WAIK and editing answer files, you can be pretty efficient.
The main problem is that you may have a little difficulty building your first answer file because the WAIK has some accessibility problems. The wiki entry above attempts to explain how to deal with them.

Sorry this is not possible. You don't have speech in the text mode portion of setup and you won't have sound until all the drivers have been detected and installed. Better to use WAIK and generate an unattend file and stick it on a flash drive then boot the cd and do an unattended install. we have an article on our cucat wiki if you care.

We also did a cavicast on it at http://www.cucat.org/cavicasts/2012/
