So in your experience, dyndns.com doesn't t usually ask for a captcha once you have created an account? I'm guessing that like a lot of sites, once you create an account, you don't have to do the captcha again. I should have tried to see if web vissum could have solved the captcha. I'm a little disappointed that none of these sites have allowed you to bypass the captcha with a private key. Generating certs is part of what they do, after all. I guess the problem would be that you'd need a private key from somewhere else to prove that you are a human to them. It would be like saying "Go out and get part of your services somewhere else and then come back here." But they could recognize private keys from MIT or cacert.org without creating a conflict of interests. You know, it occurs to me that I have accounts on both godaddy and namesecure and as far as I know, they do not offer a private key sign-in option. I know both of those companies sell server certificates but I'm not sure they sell private certs. Even so, it seems odd. Once you create an account, they could let you generate a public/private key pair on their system and use that to log in from then on. On 09/05/13 08:40, Matthew White wrote:
I have been using DynDNS since 2003 as both a registrar as well as for their dynamic DNS services. Support is great and their services are extremely reliable.

I tried dyndns.com but it has a captcha to create an account. It did seem pretty good up to that point. Better than goodaddy and namesecure. I have johnheim.net on godaddy and johnheim.com on namesecure. I used different registrars just to see if one was more accessible than the other. I've managed to muddle through on both of them. Neither one has great accessibility but they don't offer dynamic dns either.

Hi,
www.dyndns.com are good but not the cheapest, I use their nameservers as they have a universal dynamic DNS service that really works. Gandi are the company I use for domain registration, very cheap (billed in Euros).
Andrew.
