There is a wiki page on iavit.org on getting grup to play a tune upon boot: https://wiki.iavit.org/index.php/Grub On 08/24/2017 07:13 AM, Jason White via Blind-sysadmins wrote:
Grub 2 can be configured to play a tune when the Grub menu appears. At that point, you would need to know the correct keyboard commands to select the desired OS, as speech (and braille, for that matter, but you asked about speech) is not available prior to the loading of the kernel.
I would suggest installing Grub 2 to your USB device, and setting up the order of operating systems in the Grub menu according to your preferences.

Hello,
Is anyone using a thumb drive of sufficient size to boot multiple operating systems? For the purposes of this discussion i'm not talking USB2 or 3, just a big enough drive to load it, and then boot say two or three Linux versions?
If so, does any of this speak from selection to the OS's?
Thanks. Dave.
