Hi Barry, Have you tried using local as the server name? Greg B. I've just installed SQL Express, but can't connect to the server. The Server is installed locally on my Win 7 box. When I launch SQL Management and am prompted for a server to connect to, I type ".\SQLEXPRESS" and get, "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (Microsoft SQL Server)" I need to connect to the server so I can change or enter a new password. Any thoughts? Cheers, Barry.
