Darrell and all-- The Blackberry connect works well with Talks and Nokia phones, such as the N75, N82, E62 PDA, etc. I have not gotten any word or indication from Code Factory that Blackberry Connects works with any of its phones, but it does not appear that it should be an issue. -----Original Message----- From: blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of christophermcmillan@hotmail.com Sent: Monday, March 17, 2008 1:44 PM To: Blind sysadmins list Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Blackberry / Windows Mobile Dear Darrell I have heard nothing regarding this from Code Factory. I have heard rumors that Humanware and Code Factory are working on something but being from the AT Industry as a Operations Manager, this could take a while. RIM has been put to task on this as a 508 Issue for the Federal Government but they can get by with this type of solution. I had this type of Dialog when I worked for ALVA BV so I know how hard RIM is to deal with. I investigated the price of this for a charity a while ago, and the RAM pricing was very expensive, it would cost us around $15,000 for a 5 user pack, if I remember correctly. On the subject of the Blackberry, are you using speech with this in any way, or do you have enough sight to see this? Thanks. The reason I ask is because I would be worried about spending this amount of money on such a product, if I had never heard of the manufacturer before in that space. For example, I know that Citrix is a leader in remote management and desktop sharing. However, other than in software for the blind, I have not heard of Serotek advertising widely in this space. Until this happens, I am concerned that people will not want to adopt this solution. Discuss. RDP through Windows works great for me. You don't need extra licenses to load Window-eyes on a computer that you want to connect to. I've even logged into a server from home and then into various work stations. I still get pretty good connection using rdp from computer to computer to computer. I am happy to have stumbled across this list. I am looking for accessible remote control software. I don't have the ability to install Jaws on every computer I touch, so any help would be appreciated. I used Jaws and Window eyes for access.
Thanks in advance,
Greg Bobo
