Hi Glen,
Thanks much for your reply, appreciate it.
Will reach out to support to try and get the reg files so that I can continue using Windows 10. I hope they help since I'm not in the US. Dealers here would take ages to reply.
Much appreciated.
Kind Regards

Hi, Zameer,
If you've not already done so recently, please reach out to Freedom Scientific support about this. I suspect that this is related to UAC having been disabled on your machines, either explicitly by you or by some other app on your behalf without you knowing it. There is a strange Windows bug that blocks JAWS from injecting components into the search screen and other UWP apps if UAC has been disabled. Most people run with UAC enabled, which means that the issue isn't all that common.
Sadly, it's not always enough to simply use the UAC UI to rectify this. Support has the necessary registry entries to share with you. A small number of people have seen this issue, and sometimes we're not able to deduce just how the UAC settings got into this odd state.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Yep, I somehow agree with you, perhaps specific to windows 10. I'm thinking it could be video, all the drivers are installed and up-to-date.
Even though my system is not supported by Microsoft on Windows 11, if I install it, I don't experience these issues.

Hello,
It is interesting that you are experiencing the same kind of behavior at your work system. It does sound like a video card issue maybe drivers. Possible chipset or sound card drivers. I experienced similar behavior with all of those listed above. Sound card or audio drivers, dying video card or video drivers, bad chipset drivers or not enough system resources.

Do you have more than 1 version of Jaws on your system? I've heard that can create conflicts at times. I'd also say that I really think this is a problem for Jaws support. If you do a clean uninstall of Jaws, make sure you remove all shared files and all user settings.
1 last thing you might try is to go to Ease of access center, choose display, tab to "show annimations in windows" & ensure the setting is turned off.

Zameer, Could you please try exiting Jaws, turn on Narrator, and see if it's exhibiting similar behavior?
Please also include in your next reply the specific version of Windows 10 you're using (press windows key r then type winver when the run dialog appears and press enter.

Hi List,
For those using jaws and windows 10,
Do you perhaps have some advice for me please, with the following issues I experience below?
I find that JAWS is not reading search results in the start menu, I don't hear items in combo boxes, I'm not able to review text in edit boxes in apps like Whatsapp, and I can't use the Microsoft store reliably.
It sounds like a video accessibility driver issue but I'm not too sure.
Clean install of windows 10 up to date.
Ensured that I'm using the correct and up to date display driver.
Have done a reinstall of jaws, latest version.
I've enabled the start menu, access out of process option.
Use accessibility display driver for capture option is checked.
This is also happening on my work machine using windows 10 but I could get by with it for now.
The only reason why I am still sticking with windows 10 is because I find that there is less of a lag compared to windows 11, where all works just fine.
My home machine does not support windows 11 officially, but if I install it anyway, all seems to work fine.
Any help would be much appreciated, apologies for posting such an unrelated question to this type of list.
Kind Regards
