Makes sense, I've only used exchange from an admin angle as a small company with less than 100 users. Where I work now thankfully I only touch network elements. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Hodgson" <andrew@hodgsonfamily.org> To: "Blind sysadmins list" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Saturday, August 29, 2009 4:08 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Exchange from 2K3 to 2K7 Hi, We did that for around 5 years - start off with Sendmail, then move to a different Exchange clone as the business grew. We ended up with Scalix, which was a Linux email server which did a lot of what Exchange did. The issue with these products is that they are always one step behind what MS are doing with Exchange, for example, none of these Exchange clones yet have Sharepoint integration. Also, if you are involved with any MS licensing programme and have several users on the programme, you will find that Exchange gets lobbed in with all the other apps, so it becomes more expensive to use something different (like Communigate or Scalix). Sad but unfortunately true. I've no current experience in Exchange, other than high-level sys admin account management. Any suggestions? Hi B, So basically i have like 16 mailboxes that have been exported from exchange2003 using exmerge. i currently have them all stored on a hard drive as .pst files but i need them imported into exchange 2007. Problem is i dont think i can use the powershell cos i am using the 64bit OS - exmerge dosent want to run at all on exchange 2007. There are also quite alot of custom folders etc within the .pst's as well.
