Pretty sure you should be ok with nmap unless I'm missing something?
I've used it on quite a few different platforms over the years; I think
theres even an iOs port for those of us who are jailbroken.

Orca is the screen reader for the linux graphical user interface. It works pretty well. It's pretty much all I ever use. I sometimes still use voiceover but I do 99% of my work with orca.
