Thank you both, this is very helpful information. On Thu, Sep 17, 2020 at 12:00 PM Simon Eigeldinger <simon.eigeldinger@vol.at> wrote:
Hi Mike,
I work with teamviewer daily. We have set a default password all over our network. In our internal network we have set computer names so that they reflect the phone number of that person. so my extension is 1143. so my computername is pcr1143. When i want to connect to someone i just type the pc name into the id field and then enter the password. Then i get connected. Navigating around the teamviewer remote window i use the nvda object navigation. That works well and nore or less all buttons are labeled. When you practice a little bit you get the hang of it pretty quickly. To get out of the remote window again i use the mouse. i always have a mouse connected to my computer to do exactly that. move the mouse for example on the desktop and then left click once to get the focus off the teamviewer window. then you can close the teamviewer window from the taskbar.
To set the password you can open up the context menu of the teamviewer icon in the systray. then go to options. then go to security and then there are 2 password fields. this also locks the settings for the normal user and just admins can change options. you can also add additional passwords there if you have users that also need to have access to the computer but are no admins. in the home office times we have done that on some computers we have.
To get a little bit ried of the sound lag you can go to the remote control section of the options on your side and select different quality settings or what it is called in english. then you can hit the button next to it to set the slider to 0 and disable gui animations maybe that might help a little.
Hope i was able to help you there.
Greetings, Simon
Hi,
I was able to get teamviewer up and running, although it's not the most accessible program. I have a couple of issues.
Is there a way to allow connecting without the user having to enter a password?
I had the full version of jaws installed on both machines, but typically I would only have the jaws demo or NVDA installed on the remote machine. Would the jaws remote addon work with team viewer?
I noticed that the jaws sound quality was very poor. Is there anything
can be done about this?
Is there a way to have the jaws audio only play on my machine and not on the remote computer?
Thanks, Mike

I'll just be providing basic support for the most part. A lot of the users are not tech savvy at all. I didn't realize that team viewer would push audio, I'll test that out tomorrow. They currently use a package called DameWare but I can't find an option to push the audio. The reason they
that package is because it does not require the user to enter a code, you can just connect by entering the computer name or IP with no user intervention.

Hi,
What tasks are you having to perform on the desktops? I can't remember whether you can log into RDP with another user and have the same user still active, back when I did this it wasn't possible on XP. There used to be a /admin switch you could use to get RDP access to the console session where the users was logged in, I don't know if that exists now. Also the RDP option may not be open by default on the machines if they are using another package.
If I need to do this I sometimes use Team Viewer with Narrator (which means you don't need JFW installed on the machines either, which is another problem). TeamViewer pushes the sound as well as the screen to your machine. I try and avoid remoting into other machines at all cost,
are lots of ways to do most of the tasks you require like installing something or manipulating files using other remote admin techniques.
Andrew.

It's for desktops. That wouldn't be good. Is there another solution? What if I logged into remote desktop with a different account than the one

Hi,
Is this servers or desktops? If desktops/workstations JAWS and RDP wouldn't be the answer. When you made the connection it will kick the local user out of their session.
Thanks,
Billy

Hi all,
Part of my job requires me to remotely access machines to provide support. The only solution I'm finding is to install the jaws demo on all of the computers on the network, and purchase the remote access addon for my license. Is that the best option? If so is there a good way to deploy jaws to all of the machines? Ideally we would not even want the users to know that jaws is installed so they do not accidentally activate it.
